Slaters in Ames: August 2012

http://www.cycloneslaters.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 27, 2012. Today I started watching Gabbi who is a friend's of ours daughter. She's a little over two and a half and is just a little taller than Jay. (And weighs less than he does.) I'll be watching her Monday, Wednesday and Friday until I start working at that Solum lab on September 17th. Gabbi is quite the cutie and she loves Tigger! Friday, August 17, 2012. I know a lot of time has passed since I last posted on this blog. Too much time! So many things have happened this month.

Slaters in Ames: July 2012

http://www.cycloneslaters.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 22, 2012. My wonderful cousin, Cyndy, informed me of a Bountiful Baskets site in Des Moines. So we tried it this weekend and I am loving it! We got quite a lot of produce:. 1 bunch collard greens. We saved about $6.00 doing the basket, and we were lucky with the fact I was going to Des Moines anyway. Obviously not very cost effective at this point, but hopefully more people will start using it so we will be able to receive more produce. Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Jay and I went to the library...

Slaters in Ames: January 2013

http://www.cycloneslaters.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Sunday, January 13, 2013. Already into day 14 of the year and this is my first post. I hope this tend doesn't continue! Jay keeps me pretty busy while I'm at home and always wants to play when I have a free minute to blog here. Jason worked his last Saturday yesterday. They changed his schedule so now he has weekends off instead of Sunday and Tuesday. He won't have to take as much vacation time since he'll already have Saturdays off for us to travel anywhere. Homemade tortillas are really the way to go!

Slaters in Ames: October 2012

http://www.cycloneslaters.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 27, 2012. After leaving the house, Jay and I had lunch at McDonald's. (Not the healthiest choice, but fairly quick and I know the menu really well and had decided what to get before we went in.) Jay ate all of his kid's meal even with all the distraction of the other kids running around the Play Place. Since it doesn't bother me too much at work, mostly at home, we decided to give it a few weeks to see if it would go away. Most likely, I'll have the surgery sometime after Thanksgivi...

Slaters in Ames: December 2012

http://www.cycloneslaters.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 29, 2012. Jason, Jay and I are very fortunate that we live so close to family. We are able to spend some time with both sides at Christmas! Jay gets to play with all of his cousins and Jason and I get to have some good, adult conversations. We were very fortunate that the weather was good and made travel easier. This weekend is jammed packed with visitors! Tomorrow, some friends of ours from Independence are coming out for the day. We're going to have a busy couple of days! I am planni...

Life is a Great Adventure: Gymnastics

http://whereweare-ericandcyndy.blogspot.com/2013/11/gymnastics.html

Life is a Great Adventure. Friday, November 22, 2013. One of the things we have had to work out and perfect, for our own 10 score is CJ's hair. 1 Must be pulled back and secure. 2 No pony tails, unless hair is curled. 3 Must not infringe upon the routine. 4 Glitter, then a bit more glitter, then buy stock in hair glitter and add some more glitter. We have tried some styles and they have been fun and semi successful. So I scoured the internet, pintrest, videos, to come up with a different idea. For the fi...

Life is a Great Adventure. Monday, September 23, 2013. He is full of helpfulness. This was at school while I was doing AR tests with first graders. She lost her first top tooth on a Sunday. Sadly the tooth fairy did not make it that night, we're pretty sure it was due to the crazy rain we had going on. Then, the following Sunday she lost her second top tooth. Love these grins! With her friend and classmate from Sunday School, they're a matching pair! Saturday, September 21, 2013. He went as a ninja!

Life is a Great Adventure. Sunday, January 27, 2013. And it happens to be, the little baby is now three months old! I find that just unbelievable, except, the way he is loved on, it's as if he's been here the whole time, and he is fiercely protected by each and every older sibling. Watch out! Happy baby all the time! Eager to get her turn to hold him, look how big he's gotten! Lots to say, when he can get a word in edge wise. Maybe not always happy. Can he really be 3 months old already? But she got it!

Blog Full of Letters: Out with the Old, In with the New

http://blogfullofletters.blogspot.com/2015/02/out-with-old-in-with-new.html

Blog Full of Letters. Out with the Old, In with the New. Christmas 2014 was a whirlwind of fun times for us. We spent the holidays in Wausau visiting lots and lots and lots of family. We hopped around from one party to the next, and even had time to play in the snow. When we left our house on Christmas Eve we barely had enough snow to cover the grass. When we arrived in Wausau it was like a Winter Wonderland. Christmas morning with Gma and Kyiah. Playing games with the Merkey family. La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Blog Full of Letters: Getting Ready for Christmas

http://blogfullofletters.blogspot.com/2014/12/getting-ready-for-christmas.html

Blog Full of Letters. Getting Ready for Christmas. This past weekend was filled with a lot of Christmas Cheer. Saturday the boys made their road race debut at the Rudolph Dash put on by the YMCA! They had such a blast with the whole event, and they were so excited for Santa and Rudolph to be there. (I have never seen Santa lead a bunch of children in pre-race stretches, so that was a first for me too! Luckily, the man in red was content to say hello and not hitch them to a sleigh. Later in the day we fin...

Life is a Great Adventure: July 2013

http://whereweare-ericandcyndy.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Life is a Great Adventure. Monday, July 29, 2013. Welcome to the tea party. This is the story of how I became a permanent guest, or since it's forever, member, of the Mad Hatter Tea Party. I'm not sure I can stop giggling long enough to write this story. It was after bowling. Sweetness and I had not bowled particularly well and dear Eric said, "how about we go buy new shoes for everyone to cheer you up? Let me put a couple of things out there:. 1 I am not. A huge fan of shopping. This is how it goes:.

http://whereweare-ericandcyndy.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Life is a Great Adventure. Sunday, June 30, 2013. It's *gasp* a *gasp* dry *gasp* heat! For all of you who are living in a new swamp or under a rock, some of us are frying. Literally! Each day it is a new fun game to get the mail, that is in front of our house. Can you get to the mailbox, open it without loosing fingers, retrieve the mail, close it and get back inside before third degree blister burns begin to appear? A real fun game! Do I sound melodramatic? Well check this out:. Do you believe me now?

Blog Full of Letters. Remembering Great Grandma Merkey. Last week Brian's grandmother passed away after a battle with cancer. We knew she was sick and we knew this day would come, but after being diagnosed this summer her decline was faster than any of us had expected or hoped it would be. Grandma Merkey was gentle, kind, and loving. We will miss her so much. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). La Crosse, Wisconsin. Remembering Great Grandma Merkey. Blogs of Those We Know.
