Digital Animation Training Studio. Ash's experience at Cyfle. Friday, 21 September 2007. Yup, believe it or not this took three weeks! I suppose that's because Maya sucks (it really does). Yup, after 7 years of using it i wouldn't disagree. Did you have someone teach you the basics and if so how long did you have to learn and produce the clip? All the Maya projects could have been lit properly in only a minute or so. Oh well, its easy to say that when you know how i suppose. 3 January 2008 at 20:15.

Last week (or rather the friday before) we began learning Maya, with the aid of Matt Leonard of Sphere VFX. Let's just say that it's lucky for us he knows his onions. And involves animating an inanimate object to some dialogue of my own choosing. This is infinitely more tricky than it sounds. I have chosen my objects, and I am modelling a G4 iMac. And a Motorola RAZr. Because. why not?

A DeviantART summary of last year, just like the 2011 one. A couple of things to mention here:. Yes, a lot of things I did last year were Design-a-Character challenges. I also had ZERO deviations submitted to DeviantART in July and December (busy months? So I used an Instagram photo of a batman drawing I did that month, and a screen grab of the Rocket Rooster game I did the artwork for shortly after starting at eChalk (you can see the game here. Amazing 3D Swivel Head illusion: Dewi the Dragon. I started working at eChalk in November last year, and recently we've been making these 3D paper illusions that appear to turn their head and follow you as you move. So, just in time for St. David's day. We've made the template for Dewi the Dragon available to download on the website. Thursday, 1 November 2007. Maya animation is cool. Have spent a month doing Maya cg stuff. A week learning with Matt Leonard was cool, a very patient man who sure does know what he's doing.
