A fine WordPress.com site. A Day On The Twante Canal. April 8, 2014. Today was our tour down the Twante Canal and visit the little village of Twante. The Twante, a heavily silted, and roiling canal was built in 1883 to join Yangon to the Irrawaddy Delta and through to the ocean. It is deep enough for large steamers.
