Tuesday, November 20, 2007. The highlight of the trip was the wildlife. we were so lucky to see so many critters, it was like we were on safari! When we arrived at the carpark at the start of the hike a large coyote scooted across it - the first coyote i've seen! Then driving back home after the hike a deer ran across the road in front of us. moments later a moose appeared on the horizon! So we sat there in the car for ages, hanging out next to the moose on the road. blimin' awesome! Posted by d @ 5:39 PM.

I taught my last lesson at nova today. was in a bit of a daze all day actually with mixed feelings of excitement and sadness. a bit like the last day of school. most of my students were wonderful today (two i could've done without), and i even got some gifts! My babies have finally sprouted legs! Went out to check on the wee tadpoles this morning (after 2 weeks of neglect coz of the giant wasps living in our backyard) and i was momentarily sick with worry as i couldn't see any wrig...

We just pottered around the harbour - out to limestone island where we parked up on the beach and then walked to the top - pretty sparkling view - and through the mangrove forests where we saw heaps of those cormorants or shags or whatever nesting. even saw the bubbas in the nests! Today it is exactly one week since i touched down in nz. the biting chill has taken a bit of getting used to (especially since my jacket didn't make it off the big boat until a couple of days ago! But really winter up here in whangas is not so bad. in fact yesterday i went for a walk in the sunshine wearing nothing but a t-shirt! And jeans and underwear and shoes and socks). the mornings and evenings are frosty though and i live in my dressing gown and slippers when at home.

They also know Mike who I meet at Rythm and Vines in Gisborne. They all got to know each other on the open water course. I think that was the weekend Chris and I broke up. What a small world. Sat was spent showing Jaz's friends Jan and Al from the Uk shopping down Cuba. Also the night life. We took them to Havana, Matterhorn and Mighty Mighty. Monday, September 3, 2007. Apologies to those who thought I had vanished. Just letting you all know I'm in LA. Went to Pasedena shopping. I got 4 pairs of new shoes (Puma, Guess, Converse and O niel! Went to Macys. Got some more clothes. Yay. Had lunch at a gorgeous italian restaurant with Yurei. Who drove us past some stunning masnsions.
