Saving the World One Cup of Sugar at a Time. View my complete profile. Diary of a Cake Stylist. Saturday, August 16, 2008. Alright, kids. I've gotten a couple of requests to post some pics of the cakes I have done. So, here it goes. This was my first fondant covered cake (obviously). I HATED it, but that was the assignment. Being the good, little student that I am, I followed instructions. My very first cake order! I was given free reign on the design. I was pretty pleased with it. My second cake order!

http://cakegoddess.blogspot.com/2008/08/culinary-genius.html
Saving the World One Cup of Sugar at a Time. View my complete profile. Diary of a Cake Stylist. Saturday, August 16, 2008. That's right, folks.I'm a culinary genius! Okay, maybe that's a little exaggerated, but I have found myself to be pretty handy in the kitchen. This morning, I was really wanting some pancakes. Normally, I'm a boxed mix pancake girl, but I didn't have any in the pantry. Being the resourceful little cook that I am, I set out to find a homemade pancake. This recipe is so good! I had qui...

http://cakegoddess.blogspot.com/2008/09/60-years-of-wedded-bliss.html
Saving the World One Cup of Sugar at a Time. View my complete profile. Diary of a Cake Stylist. Sunday, September 7, 2008. 60 Years of Wedded Bliss. In my last post, I mentioned that I recently attended my grandparents' 60th Wedding Anniversary party. My grandparents have been blessed with 5 daughters, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren (so far). These two people (along with God's help) created all of this! I am so thankful to have such wonderful examples in my life. 60 years!

As I Eat and Breathe: September 2009
http://asieatandbreathe.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
As I Eat and Breathe. Creations, consumptions, and contemplations. Tuesday, September 22, 2009. TWD: Cottage Cheese Pufflets. Mmmhow yummy were these? I loved the texture and that subtle creamy cheesy-ness. They really do need to be eaten right away. They do not keep at all. Any older than couple of hours and they turn soggy and gritty, but straight out of the oven, they are wonderful. The round shapes were my last attempt. I used a teaspoon scoop then pressed it with the bottom of a glass (like one ...

A Project: Tuesdays With Dorie. February 15, 2012 by Kate. Sometimes I don’t make the smartest decisions. A few months ago, after one too many mishaps, I started applying the Don’t be stupid, Kate rule. When I’m puttering about and I catch myself about to do something stupid, say putting a plate on, but not entirely on, an overflowing countertop,. Just for a minute while I do something,. Anyway, what does this have to do with anything? Written by Dorie Greenspan. Over the course of (How many? On February...

Carla's Culinary Creations: Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
http://carlamcooks.blogspot.com/2010/02/slow-cooker-chicken-and-dumplings.html
Thursday, February 18, 2010. Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings. I have never really made chicken and dumplings.yet at least! Over the past few years, I have read/ heard people rave over this Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings. This recipe sure did smell good while cooking too! The dish had a good flavor as well. You certainly have to give this one points for being easy too! It is also a kid friendly meal which is definitely a plus. The ingredients are simple and perhaps things that you keep on hand. 2 Cov...

Carla's Culinary Creations: Bite Sized French Toast
http://carlamcooks.blogspot.com/2011/02/bite-sized-french-toast.html
Wednesday, February 9, 2011. Bite Sized French Toast. One of my favorite breakfasts when I was little was by far French Toast! What's not to love about it? So, when I realized we had some "less than fresh" bread on our hands, I thought this was the perfect solution to use it up! Score one for Mom! 1 cup milk (I used 2%). Remove crust from bread and cut into fourths. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon. Turn bread to brown both sides, about 5 minutes total. The Drummond Digest by Ree.

Carla's Culinary Creations: Baked Potato Soup
http://carlamcooks.blogspot.com/2011/02/baked-potato-soup.html
Tuesday, February 8, 2011. While we continue to be "iced in" the house, I was looking for a good hearty recipe for dinner. I really wanted Chicken and Dumplings, but didn't have all of the ingredients. So, I opted to make a baked potato soup. Rather than searching for recipes, I just sort of winged it to see what I came up with. 4 baking potatoes, baked, peeled and cubed. 4 green onions, chopped. 6 strips bacon cooked and crumbled (I used turkey bacon). 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded. Simple t...

Carla's Culinary Creations: Barbeque Chicken Fajita Tacos
http://carlamcooks.blogspot.com/2011/02/barbeque-chicken-fajita-tacos.html
Monday, February 7, 2011. Barbeque Chicken Fajita Tacos. There are so many things you can make with chicken and so many ways to make fajita tacos as well! I wasn't sure what I wanted to make, but had some barbecue. Sauce and chicken so I came up with a chicken taco. I basted the chicken with the sauce and it gave it a hint of flavor without being overpowering. You really could use any sauce you like to baste the chicken with and come up with a tasty fajita taco (or quesadilla. 1 onion, cut in strips.
