Everyone eats and drinks, yet only few appreciate the taste of food. - Confucius. Wednesday, November 01, 2006. The Wonderful Kitchen of Apartment #4. I must admit, I am no expert cook by any means. In fact, I could probably count the number of main dishes I've cooked myself on my ten fingers. But, in the light of an eagerness to learn, I have started a new hobby: cooking (particularly Chinese. The Thinking Log: Winter flakes!
http://thethinkinglog.blogspot.com/2006/10/winter-flakes.html
Wednesday, October 25, 2006. The snow is coming down in Provo! Walking to school this morning at 7:40 am (I still don't have a bike with good tires) it was surprisingly warm. However, as I came out of economics class an hour later the weather had dropped drastically. An hour later, coming out of biology, the snow had started. And it continued all day long, falling in large wet flakes. In fact, it's starting to stick now that it is night. Ice is not good. Ice is hard and very, very slippery and it req...

Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Halloween with the Prophet. This Halloween, however, has possibly been my best Halloween yet. "Why? The words President Hinckley spoke, however, were just amazing. It was different in structure, though. He shared a series of events and experiences that he has had throughout his life. Some of them were short. Some of them were funny. Some were very moving. The Thinking Log: A New Found Hobby
http://thethinkinglog.blogspot.com/2006/10/new-found-hobby.html
Sunday, October 29, 2006. A New Found Hobby. Hopefully this won't end up being a blog totally filled with food that I've made, but I've got to add this one. The experiment today was sweet and sour chicken over rice. And, oh was it good! It took two hours to prepare and made a whole lot more than I expected. But luckily I've got good roommates who are willing to share the burden of eating. But this is no joke, this sweet and sour chicken tasted like the real stuff. It's a keeper recipe. Think, Think, Think.

The Thinking Log: People Like Marshall
http://thethinkinglog.blogspot.com/2006/11/people-like-marshall.html
Sunday, November 05, 2006. By looking at the title of the post and at the same time knowing that I am an economics major, you may suppose that I am about to write about famed economist Alfred Marshall. But, although what I have read of Alfred Marshall is quite admirable, this is not the topic of my post. I'm writing about a guy named Marshall. Friday as I was sitting down eating lunch and reading The Daily Universe. So, you may ask, why am I writing about this? Go ahead, go for it. Think, Think, Think.
The Thinking Log: Interpreting and Translating
http://thethinkinglog.blogspot.com/2006/11/interpreting-and-translating.html
Wednesday, November 08, 2006. Tonight after work, I had the wonderful pleasure of going to the BYU Interpretation and Translation Club. So, what did I learn while practicing interpreting? Let me tell you. It is not easy, by any means. Interpreting in Chinese is 100 times harder than interpreting in other languages. (This is because I can barely read the language much less read it at the same pace that the speaker is going.). It's going to take a whole lot of practice. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
The Thinking Log: Let's hear it for optimism!
http://thethinkinglog.blogspot.com/2006/10/lets-hear-it-for-optimism.html
Tuesday, October 24, 2006. Let's hear it for optimism! So, now your wondering what is so optimistic about all of this? Why not make this one of those days where I turn things around with my attitude. Why not be optimistic? So, I decided to look to the future with hope, forgetting the events of the morning. Wow, Eric. Wow. That, well, that pretty much stinks. Way to be an optimist, though. Gold stars for you! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Think, Think, Think.

Monday, October 23, 2006. A Day in the Life of Eric. There is a great book by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn that I read a while back titled A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. The book takes you through the life of Ivan Denisovich. Who is a prisoner in a Russian prison camp (sorry if I have the details wrong. I need to go back and review the book). In short, it takes the whole book to go through one day. Now, to spare you the boredom of hearing about my day in a booklength. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
