My first ever image of Sunspots thanks to Thousand Oaks Solar filter purchased from Mark (scoobywizz- This guy is a first class seller by the way) on Astrobuysell. I used my LX200 10" with an Orion No 58 Green Filter and Mintron MTV-126HC camera with an Antares f6.3 focal reducer also from Mark :). Make space in your life for SPACE. Had a fine view of Comet Panstarrs from Limekilns in Fife. Myself, Chris, Pete, and Paul were joined by several members of the public and local residents who came out to see what were up to. Perseverance paid off and we had some great views with a selection of scope including a 3inch refractor and 15x70 binoculars as well as a 6 inch Astrosystems reflector. Designed by Geoff Ruzgar.

Make space in your life for SPACE. Had a wonderful evening 11th March 2015. The stars were out last night in all their glory so took the covers off the 8 inch Dobsonian and had a night of visual observing for a change. What a night! Firstly tried locating objects with the finder scope but that proved next to useless on all but the brightest objects (Thank you for illuminating the Forth Rail Bridge and sending a beam of light to illuminate the southern sky whichever cretin was responsible for that idea!

The Observatory
Doncaster Astronomical Society (DAS) in partnership with the Austerfield Field Study Centre, has in the grounds of the study centre, their own observatory crammed with leading edge optical instruments. A clear sky all night or at least from 10:00pm to 3:00am, when I closed down. The best night I've seen for many months, clear all round and the Milky Way could be seen from the bottom of Perseus across the top of the sky to the bottom of Aquila.
