It's birding time!: Orange is the new black
http://birdingmarc.blogspot.com/2015/07/orange-is-new-black.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. Orange is the new black. In late July, many adult waders are already in migration, specially the orange coloured ones: Red Knot. Also, good numbers of Dunlins. Nabben and the Mäklappen beach, to the south-west corner of the peninsula, are two of the best places for birding in the area. There were lots of waders a few days ago, with an specially nice flock of about 150 Knots. I tried to make a video using my phone and the scope, here you can see the result. We got 19 adult Dunlins.

It's birding time!: March 2015
http://birdingmarc.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2015. In case you didn't know. :P. March is always a great month because of the first arrivals of many migrant species. Some, as Swallows and many waders, already appear on late February, but March is always better for them. This situation, the beggining of migration, always produce me some sort of ecstasy that will persist until June. Migration is ON. You may know what I mean if you're birder too. That feeling that almost anything can be flying over you at any time. Of the year too.

It's birding time!: December 2014
http://birdingmarc.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. As I already did in 2012. Here it is the 2014's Top 5. I always find very hard to make a ranking, which could mean a sort of 'order of preferences'. With this year's top 5, with very heavy experiences for me, the numbers should only be considered as a way to list them. All of them are very special in their sort of way! During this year I've seen all usual Palearctic Eagles. The first one was a Greater Spotted Eagle. Some Lesser Spotted Eagles. And some Steppe Eagles. The mos...

It's birding time!: July 2014
http://birdingmarc.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 24, 2014. Any misterious or extraordinary quality or power. Summer nights can be really magic in terms of everything. Just taking the car or going for a walk, you'll probably be surprised by something (an owl, a fox, a nightjar.), so imagine what can happen if you try to ring something. Additionally, you may be pleased by a really nice star-filled sky. Are quite easy to catch, either with a usual passerine net or a hand-net. Second-year (EURING 5) male, with 4 inner secondaries, alula.

Observant la natura…. Setembre a l’Alta Ribagorça. Visita a Osona, projecte Gat Fer. Marzo 17, 2014.

It's birding time!: September 2014
http://birdingmarc.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2014. Since I came back home, and as I also did last year. I started a ringing campaign in my usual place: l'Aiguamoll de la Bòbila. The 'start of the season' was nice, with 62 birds ringed, but it turned to be really slow the next mornings. Here, transaharan species are still the commonest migrants, and just the firsts presaharans are appearing. During my lasts days in Falsterbo, Robins. Nice surprise the first day of campaign. Commonest migrants at the beggining,. First-year star...

It's birding time!: January 2015
http://birdingmarc.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 19, 2015. Something to start with. A new year started some days ago, and I have to say that it has been a nice beggining for me, even I've been most of the time studying. First of all, I want to emphasize something I've just realised: this is my post number 101! So thanks to every reader I've got during this time, I hope you found and continue finding interesting things in this blog! One of the firsts ringing days of the year I went to try to catch Bullfinches. EURING 5, with 3 OGCs.

Observant la natura…. Entradas más nuevas →. Nova sortida ornitológica amb Asorbase. Marzo 18, 2013. I el picot verd. O el simpàtic ...

It's birding time!: February 2015
http://birdingmarc.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2015. That's exactly what Yasmina lake is: an oasis. For a bird (let's imagine a tiny one, a Willow Warbler for instance) that just has crossed the sandy Sahara, a small (or not that small.) lake, with some tamarisks to hide in and eat some stuff before continue its travel, must be like a paradise for them. For more information of the ringing campaign and birds around Yasmina, click here. It actually is a paradise even for people (at least for me). Just take a look. Is a common wi...
