I'm a native of Kingsport Tennessee, graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School in 1969, went to the University of Mississippi, where as a sophomore, I ended up being the chief engineer of the Media Center in Bishop Hall. (Hey, back then an FCC first-phone meant something! I met my former wife there, and we enjoyed living in Oxford, Mississippi in a huge old 100 year old house. In the country. Over the years, I've been lucky enough to find myself in a position to put together some sizeable facilities. I distinguish here between a Facility. Being a physical plant, where power, air conditioning, lighting, electrical power, signal cabling, and human comfort all come into play - and a System. Which is a complex combination of hardware and software dedicated to solving a particular task. This is out of order, but I like showing off! OK, now we can go back to the beginning to time.
