Dream come true, skiing and flting on my favourite ski hile, Revelstoke. Mt Begbie in the back ground. Wonderful that the ski hill welcome paragliders to fly. very thankful. We got very lucky with a flight from Idaho Peak look out, New Denver. The flight was 3 hours and about 17km. Emmanuel took some great shots. Xenia pointed out that we need to be better prepared for these longer xc flights, including bear spray, tree extraction, extra food, spare clothing, matches, contingency plan, better communication with the retrieve person. Electric Bike - Bionix. This is the motor in the hub. The battery has a frame that hold panniers which is cool. The control is pretty nice, you select the amount of assistance or generation you want, sadly the speed is all wrong because i changed the wheel diameter. its been working great, but the sad part is i may have to buy a car as well, im not sure how great this will be in the snow and with a 30km commute im not sure i can do it every day. An early end to a great season of skiing. A wonderful new years trip at Rogers Pass,. Maria touring up on a bluebird day. A great group for amazing ski days, L to R, Devin, me Kendall, Cailan, Maria,. Cailan and I at Asulkan Hut looking forward to powder on the way down. And then it when a bit wrong. A bad landing from a jump at Kicking Horse in Golden. Up until the accident it was a great day with Cailan in mid januray, I love the Purcells and i love hanging out in Golden. That screw looks suspicious.

The Bugaboos are in the Purcell mountains south of Golden, BC. Amazing granite climbing about glaciers - a real treat. We got lucky with 6 days of good weather. Cailan was the perfect alpine climbing partner, keen for early starts and pretty big days. climbs included Kain Route on Bugaboo Spire, West Ridge on Pigeon Spire and Kraus-McCarthy on Snow Patch. lots and lots to go back for. I had a great 30th birthday back in the Uk with Family. My surgeon said if I focused on rehab I could spend my trip in the UK hiking and get back to flying for the summer. It was great to be home with my sisters and parents hiking and biking. Now im back in Canada and flying when the weather permits. This is a quick blog update from Christmas. above is the 2010 ymir ski group. absolutly amazing to have met such an excited backcountry ski bunch. Below was on our way to ski at the Kootenay Pass, first moose ive seen in Canada. I spent the last couple of weeks working up at the Mica hydro generation dam north or Revelstoke, below is my new(ish) car with the 500kV switch gear behind. Kayaking on the Ottawa. Rachel Lynskey is travelling in Canada for the next few weeks. We headed to the Ottawa river for some play boating. The water is warm and the shuttles are short. Neither Rachel or I have ever really learnt to play boat. There isnt really great play boating in NZ, not that Ive found anyway. I have been finding it difficult to motivate my self for self practice so i have been playing with http:/ www.yogajournal.com/podcast/. Which has a series of fun 20min workshops aimed at stuff that often gets missed from classes; arm balanced, ab workouts and inversions.
