The AMAZING Spider-Man | Film
https://davesfilmblog.wordpress.com/2012/07/06/the-amazing-spider-man
Think back to 2007. Remember Sam Raimi’s. A movie that I will argue, until my grave, was worse than. A movie that had more villains than. Had heroes. A movie that grossed $890m worldwide. It was very successful, commercially speaking, and was going to lead to another, equally imaginatively-titled, sequel. But then it didn’t. Raimi didn’t want to do it and went on to make. Drag Me To Hell. The franchise has been rebooted as. 500) Days of Summer. The plot is essentially. The main disappointment of. Was ful...

I’m not a Seth MacFarlane fan. Not. Maybe I just don’t get his humour. He seems like a nice enough guy from interviews I’ve seen and I certainly bear no ill will towards him, but I don’t find him particularly funny. That said, my curiosity got the better of me this afternoon. I went to the cinema to catch. The Dark Knight Rises. For a second time, but had a last-minute change of heart and plumped for. Here’s the thing; it. Shaun of the Dead. It takes the cult hero cameos of. But I think if you’re a...

My 2010 Film Awards | Film
https://davesfilmblog.wordpress.com/2011/01/08/my-2010-film-awards
My 2010 Film Awards. My 2010 Film Awards. I’ve just returned from holiday, so this is a little late, but I decided to round off the year with an awards-esque thing. This is what I made of the year:. Best Screenplay: This is easy – Aaron Sorkin’s. Was incredible. No question about this one. Best Soundtrack/Score: I’m going for the. Score, assembled by Robbie Robertson. Mark Kermode described it as “honking and quacking”. I loved it. It fit the film perfectly. Best Sci-Fi: No doubt that this has to be.

One chick's take on flicks. An exploration of movies, new and old. He said/she said: I Am Number Four. February 21, 2011. DJ Caruso’s I Am Number Four was entertaining and action packed, but still romantic and thoughtful — you know, in a manly sort of way. Admittedly, I didn’t recognize the director’s name but after looking him up I realized he’s made a number of films I’ve liked — Disturbia (note: Rear Window was so good), … Continue reading →. One chick's take on flicks. An exploration of movies, new and old. December 21, 2009. Since it is movie related, I thought it would be fitting to dedicate a post to Brittany Murphy. I will admit when I first heard that she died (via a Facebook.com status update) I sprinted to a computer with teary eyes to verify. My first exposure to Brittany Murphy was at the tender age of 7 in of course. Nearly 15 years later, and both Brittany and. Then there were small roles that weren’t as memorable like. And of cou...

A mid June visit with Duke Welter was nothing short of a fine experience. In bad weather following chocolate milk creeks, Duke put us on reasonably clear water and we caught fish. We enjoyed several days of great food and fellowship including an awesome driving tour of the area. A great time had by all! And a surprise visit from Marlene Huston! Dave Sr and Bob Nasby.
