Thursday, August 29, 2013. Carter - 5 months. Carter James, you are five months old! We can't believe how much you have grown in just a month! You are so much more aware of your surroundings and you are ready to interact with everything you see. You are becoming more expressive and we love watching you smile at us and the things you like and your laugh just makes our days! We know you are in loving hands there and are so glad you are so well taken care of while we work. Favorite songs right now are Going...

The Dandelion Chronicles: February 2014
http://dandelion-chronicles.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 17, 2014. Day at the museum. Hello family and friends! It’s been a while since I’ve posted, and I hate that! Work has been crazy for me lately and, unfortunately, blogging is one of the first things on the list of things I don’t have the time for. Hopefully I’ll get around to retroactively posting a few things here soon. After that we went to the water play area. We knew he would love this because he loves to splash around in the bath tub and play with the water. Oh, that laugh! There wa...

The Dandelion Chronicles: Work from home day
http://dandelion-chronicles.blogspot.com/2013/11/work-from-home-day.html
Saturday, November 23, 2013. Work from home day. On Wednesday our daycare provider was called to jury duty so I got the rare privilege of staying with Carter while working from home. It wasn’t ideal to actually try and work from home since I couldn’t give all of my attention to Carter and I also couldn’t really accomplish too much while wrangling my busy baby, but it was still more time than I usually get with him so I was glad to have it. I was so glad for a day with my little love! Work from home day.

Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Carter - 2 months. Carter James, you are two months old! I'm sure we'll capture that sweet smile one of these days. We are enjoying getting to know you better as you get older and we look forward to watching you grow in the coming months. We love you, Bug! 23 and 1/4 inches. You are wearing size 0-3 month or 3 month clothes. They are only slightly loose on you length-wise but still loose around your chest. Size 1 is fitting you well. You still love to eat! The Dandelion Chronicles: Christmas as a family of three
http://dandelion-chronicles.blogspot.com/2013/12/christmas-as-family-of-three.html
Friday, December 27, 2013. Christmas as a family of three. Christmas this year was very special for our family - it was our first time celebrating with Carter! We have been looking forward to sharing Christmas with our children for years and it was so wonderful for it to finally happen. And if that wasn’t enough we were also privileged to have my Aunt Pat and Uncle Tim come and visit us from Santa Barbara to celebrate the holiday! Then the fun began as we showed Carter how to check out all of the loot fr...

Sunday, September 29, 2013. Carter - 6 months. Carter James, you are six months old! How has half a year already passed us by? I was looking through photos from the past six months and pulled together your one, three, and six month photos. You have changed so much! You went from being so uncertain about us and your surroundings to the giggly, cuddly, bouncy boy we know today. You are such a joy to be around! 19 pounds, 6 ounces. Playing with your toys, sucking on your binky, being held, army crawling, wa...

The Dandelion Chronicles: October 2013
http://dandelion-chronicles.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Carter - 7 months. Carter James, you are seven months old! I’ve been trying to write your heartfelt post all morning but you keep crawling into my lap and trying to play with the computer, pull on my hair, and give me hugs and “kisses” (you open your mouth and move towards my cheek or nose with your drooly smile) - all which make it very difficult to type. But this is typical of life lately! You crawl all over the place and are into everything - you barely sit still! Carter, yo...

Friday, September 5, 2014. Hello, little blog of mine! Stressed doesn’t even begin to describe how I was feeling. I burnt out quickly. But there’s a happy ending to this story! Long story short, Dave’s postdoctoral position was coming to an end and he was offered a permanent position at the company which came with the awesome job title of “Laser Physicist” (how cool is that! And a very nice raise. This allowed us to finally take the steps to achieve one of our long-time goals…. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Dandelion Chronicles: December 2013
http://dandelion-chronicles.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. A resolution for 2014: Support my fellow parent. While browsing Facebook the other night I came across the post below from a friend from high school:. My knee-jerk reaction was "yeah, some people just aren't cut out for this parenting thing". and then I caught myself. You see, I've been THAT MOM. And let's not forget that if the child has a learning or developmental disability (autism, anyone? I've seen it time and time again on social media, blogs and in real life. Observ...
