Carolina On My Mind. Friday, June 27, 2008. As we got settled into Bluffton life, i noticed one thing is very different here than in the north. CRITTERS! The humid, warm climate brings out all sorts of wonderful things. First, we had to get used to the "No-see-ums" (basically sand gnats) then the fire ants, anole's, frogs (of all shapes and sizes), wild boar roamin the highway and don't forget the alligators. Monday, June 16, 2008. Saying Goodbye- Rolling on. How can you say good-bye to someplace that has been so good to you and your family? Every crayon mark on the wall and every stain on the carpet tells a story about my kids. How can we say goodbye especially knowing that once we leave, it will be empty. Thursday, May 29, 2008. Old Friends and New Friends. Yesterday we had a visit from one of my best buds from High School, Heather and her beautiful daughter Lily. Next time we see them, they will be visiting us in Louisiana! Heather and I have been friends since we were paired as Science lab partners in our 9 th. Grade Science class. Its hard to believe that its been almost 19 years since then! Okay now I feel old. Max instantly fell in love. With Lily. He was heart broken when she told him he couldn't.
