Life and Times of the Hartzells. Wednesday, September 26, 2007. After visiting the Mara and Mombasa, we spent the weekend in the Aberderes. We decided to revisit the area of our last trip when we spent the night in the car. This wonderful hole is the one that kept us from our cabin in January. It seemed so big then and now didn't! How disappointing. We wanted to show our friends the "huge" hole that we couldn't get out of and this was it! The rain did clear up by morning and we had a wonderful Sabbath.

Life and Times of the Hartzells. Friday, November 03, 2006. Hipos are big animals - this we knew. We just didn't know how big until we saw this one out of the water. It was kinda strange to find him about 30 feet from the lake. We have since found out that probably with the lake receding there is little room for him in the water. Lake Nakuru is nice park because it is one that we can go to for the day. Alex also enjoyed the comfy back seat until he was kicked out by Eric and Josh. View my complete profile.

Life and Times of the Hartzells. Friday, November 30, 2007. Last weekend was a very musical weekend. Besides being Music Vespers, we had our annual Christmas concert. The Christmas concert included numbers from Prep Band, Elementary Choir, Elementary Bells, Choir, Chorale, and Wind Ensemble. All the groups did very well but I was especially proud of the elementary groups. Alex playing with the Prep band. Josh gives me a winning smile during the Elementary Choir songs. Alex has his bells up and ready.

The lush grean area was very dense and it was kinda hard to see animals. It was a whole different hunting game than the Mara. This is a lava field at sunset. I thought the S road was pretty cool. Little Miss Sunshine

Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Well we had a really good day. First had to have mom and dad pick her up so I could get done without her tearing the house back up behind me. So when mom, dad, and Madi arrived everyone else was already there. So she came in going "everybody is here for my birthday.Yeah". She was good most of the day till she got stingy with her toys. Mommy worked really hard on her camp out cake and my girl appreciated it. She said "you are the coolest mom in the world". Gotta love that kid.
