Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Problem: Togo needs solar but lacks access to tools materials and hardware. Furthermore the existing T, M and H are not suited to use in Africa; rather they are designed for a disposable consumer society with instant access to retail and repair. Mission: To design tools that meet the specific needs of solar entrepreneurs in Africa. These tools will be rugged and easily serviceable, and will range in cost from simple mechanically powered tools to lithium ion battery tools.

As part of another class, called Community Art Project through the Art Education department, me, 7 other undergrads, 2 graduate students and 1 teacher have been going to the Highlander School in South Providence to teach and make art projects with youths afters-school.
