Monday, March 15, 2010. So, with Seth's room done, it was time to make a little girls dream room. They got their flower bedding from Grammie for Christmas. That made Grace very happy. Elaina wanted polka dots. So there you have it.flowers and polka dots. If you have never painted polka dots before.I don't recommend it! Thirty Sticky Fingers: January 2010
http://thirtystickyfingers.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 28, 2010. Have I mentioned that Seth LOVES puppies! That's really an understatment. The kids took Zeus' passing very hard. Harder than I thought they would. They still talk about him everyday. They also ask for a puppy everyday. Their reasoning, of course, is that since we have 2 cats, we must have 2 dogs. Gotta love the way a four year old mind works. The kids are all very proud of their new pup. Especially Seth! Most of the family has been over to visit him and they all tell the kids ...

BigThoughts: June 2008
http://bigsrant.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 30, 2008. From Wikipedia "According to a study of over 300 adults, on average men cry once every month, and women cry at least five times per month", so it looks like people cry a lot more than I use to! I was kind of happy that my son hadn't been aware of me crying, not that I'm ashamed of it, or because I think it shows a lack of manliness, but more because it shows he hasn't been too aware of the stress between my wife and myself. Sunday, June 29, 2008. Wikipedia refers to attraction as "...

BigThoughts: Drought Drives Decade-Long Decline in Plant Growth
http://bigsrant.blogspot.com/2010/08/drought-drives-decade-long-decline-in.html
Thursday, August 19, 2010. Drought Drives Decade-Long Decline in Plant Growth. Earth has done an ecological about-face: Global plant productivity that once flourished under warming temperatures and a lengthened growing season is now on the decline, struck by the stress of drought. We see this as a bit of a surprise, and potentially significant on a policy level because previous interpretations suggested that global warming might actually help plant growth around the world," Running said. Setting out to u...

BigThoughts: October 2009

Thursday, October 22, 2009. Do you smile at strangers? Do the children you encounter cause you to stop and smile? Do you smile are the opposite sex? Play a great game with yourself, spend a day and predict who will share a smile with you. You might be surprised at what you discover about people. Old people are pretty much always willing to give you a smile, so I make sure to give them my best dumb grin, cause frankly I look like a bit of a goober when I smile. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). BigThoughts: July 2008
http://bigsrant.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.". In my experience things rarely work out like I thought, either for the good or the bad. Finding the balance between being thoughtful about life and avoiding mental churn is really the key for me. I tend to fall on the side of over-thinking things f...
