Copper Mountain, CO. Saturday, June 26, 2010. I have never seen anyone welcome summer like this before! There is a HUGE summer solstice parade here in Santa Barbara every June. I managed to stay in town for the weekend! Beach volleyball every Thursday night. Dolphins decided to join us this week! A coworker brought his bird to the festival. I loved these capes! So much fun to twirl! Some funky trees out here. What a way to start the summer! A bit of overkill even for me! Finally learned to hoola hoop!

Copper Mountain, CO. Sunday, July 11, 2010. Fourth of July weekend I went hiking down in the Santa Monica mountains after a quick trip to REI! Then went out contra dancing Sat night in the Brentwood area of LA. I spent the fourth walking the beaches from Santa Monica Pier and Venice beach after a parade in Santa Monica. Apparently it is a hill if it is below 3000 feet. Therefore we were hiking in the mtns not the hills of Santa Monica. I liked the way this compass was set up with the saying on it!

Copper Mountain, CO. Thursday, August 5, 2010. My friend and I have been hiking all summer and she is training for a hike up a small mountain in Africa with her husband. We decided we should get up to some elevation. I thought that would be difficult while living at the beach! Sure enough we were able to hike to 10,500 feet within an hour drive! Right outside of LA. My geography stinks! The view on the way up. Odd sight out here. I haven't seen a thundercloud since I moved to CA over a year ago!

Copper Mountain, CO. Tuesday, October 20, 2009. What a Strange weekend. First I wander into Bumpass Hell and then I take a dam tour at Lake Shasta! Alot of driving as usual! Lassen Volcanic National Park is apparently another active Geothermal area in the US! I shouldn't be surprised considering the plate tectonics out here in CA! But hey I grew up thinking Yellowstone was the only place in the continental US with geysers, fumeroles and mudpots! I know of tons of hotsprings.but never that stuff! So a tow...

Copper Mountain, CO. Sunday, January 16, 2011. The Mountains are calling and I must go" John Muir. Winter is not the same in Santa Barbara! It's been varying from 40 to 70 and raining. I was ready for some snow! I decided to take my long weekend and head to the Sierras. I totally understand what John Muir was saying! I love it up here! The drive across the Mojave was great! I really know how to take a 7 hr drive and turn it into a 10 hour drive! Decide to see if they have any museums or displays at Edwar...
