Idle hands are . Saturday, January 5, 2013. Winter in the Garden in Southern California. I took some pictures of the garden because I am aware of how different my winter garden looks as compared to the gardens of my friends in colder climates. Happy New Year! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Posts In Chronological Order. Monday, February 20, 2012. Seriously. This will be quick. Radiation is going fine. So far, so good. Thank God for Magic Skin Balm! I put it on every night before bed and wear a t-shirt to bed. My skin is darker but it is holding up. I have this week (4 more days), next week (5 days) and then my last day on Monday, March 5. Then I am DONE, baby! I'm feeling really good. I have a lot of energy. I even lost a couple of pounds. I cannot complain. Sunday, February 12, 2012. I did...

Jennifer's Blog: Recovering Nicely
http://junojen.blogspot.com/2012/05/recovering-nicely.html
Posts In Chronological Order. Saturday, May 5, 2012. No matter how it's done, a hysterectomy is major surgery. And while I chose the da Vinci robotic procedure which boasts minimal down time and pain, believe me when I say there is still plenty of down time and pain. I started to feel pretty good one week post op so I got online to work from home. Big mistake. I have also lost about 4 lbs. since my surgery. I think this is just simple bloat going away. Whatever it is, I will take it. Glad to hear you are...

The Tamoxifen Diaries: Day 747 of 1825 - Two Years Done!
http://www.tamoxifendiaries.com/2014/06/day-747-of-1825-two-years-done.html
Things That Really Work. Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Day 747 of 1825 - Two Years Done! This month marks two years post-treatment for me. Two years on tamoxifen with three more years of hormonal therapy. I guess the most difficult part of these past two years has been the weight gain - 40 lbs. in two years. That's a lot of extra weight especially since I was already carrying an extra 10 lbs. when I started treatment. On to Year Three! June 19, 2014 at 5:50 AM. After two years on Tamoxifen I switched to Fema...

The Tamoxifen Diaries: Things That Really Work

Things That Really Work. Things That Really Work. Absolutely saved my skin during radiation. My doctor normally gave his patients Miaderm but his supply was depleted. I heard about Magic Skin Balm from another woman with breast cancer. She swore by it so I gave it a try. It works! I put it on every night before bed and wore an old t-shirt to bed. I had no blisters, no burns and very little itching. This stuff is fantastic! Are you dealing with wiry, weird, chemo hair? Growing Eyelashes and Eyebrows.

Things That Really Work. Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Day 773 - The Person I Used To Be. Several people have asked me if life returns to "normal" after breast cancer treatment. I wish I could say "yes" but I would be lying. When I was going through chemo, radiation and recovering from my surgeries, I used to get really down and exclaim: I JUST WANT MY LIFE BACK! Life before cancer - active, healthy, 130 lbs. Post cancer - fat and unhappy. I can't do much about cancer. It's either coming back or it's not&#...

Things That Really Work. Monday, March 18, 2013. Day 289 of 1825. I was at my quarterly oncology check up last week and realized that I have reached another milestone toward survival. One year ago on March 5. I completed all my treatments for breast cancer. I remember how excited I was to wrap up treatments last year. How could I possibly let that "anniversary" slip by like any other day this year? Keep in mind, I have a regular 8 to 5 day job which I love. But I love yoga, too. And I just had th...The i...

The Tamoxifen Diaries: Day 691 of 1825 - Two Years Post Hysterectomy
http://www.tamoxifendiaries.com/2014/04/day-691-of-1825-two-years-post.html
Things That Really Work. Thursday, April 24, 2014. Day 691 of 1825 - Two Years Post Hysterectomy. This was me two years ago today. Well. not me exactly. But this is what I was having done - a total hysterectomy via DaVinci Robotic Device as the last step in my treatment protocol. Of all the procedures I went through - core needle biopsies, lumpectomy, sentinel node biopsy, chemo and radiation - my hysterectomy was the hardest. To this day I am still feeling the effects. And I don't like it. But my life i...

The Tamoxifen Diaries: September 2012
http://www.tamoxifendiaries.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Things That Really Work. Friday, September 28, 2012. Thank you for continuing to check in with me even though I have not been keeping my blog up to date. I'm still here and things are good. I had a checkup with my oncologist yesterday. This was my rescheduled appointment from the one I blew off back in July. Still, I have no excuses because we do have a finished attic in our house which we've outfitted as a pretty decent home gym. Nice treadmill, weight bench, weights and dumbbells. I also have a...My pl...
