Her romantic mind: January 2015
http://herromanticmind.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. Happy Birthday Niko Part 2. Before I show you Niko's party, I want to show you how I made his birthday cake! I'm usually pretty terrible at sculpting cakes (a ton of crumbs end up in the frosting and it's kind of terrible! But this time it actually turned out pretty well! When that was done, I frosted between the layers and covered the whole thing in a layer of frosting. And that was it! It's really hard to see in the above picture, but there's probably 20-30 pteranodons flyin...

Reflections of a Romantic Samurai: Where True Richness Lies
http://asebright.blogspot.com/2014/08/where-true-richness-lies.html
Reflections of a Romantic Samurai. August 4, 2014. Where True Richness Lies. It's been almost a year since I last posted. I really should stop trying to set some sort of personal record for how long I can go before I post. I would say that I was busy but that's not entirely true. I won't get into those details right now. The big news is that my little family and I moved to Georgia. And our little girl is almost nine months old. I want to be clear to my reader that I do realize that I do need money to mai...

Reflections of a Romantic Samurai: July 2013
http://asebright.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Reflections of a Romantic Samurai. July 14, 2013. My sister Catherine has a skill for making shirts and Onesies. At my request a few months ago she taught me how to make them. I came up with a design and then most of the execution with her careful oversight. This is the result. The concept comes from one of my favorite TV shows the Avatar: the Last Airbender. Here are two other shirts Catherine's made for me. The above one is also from Avatar. I hope y'all have a good week! Trust in the Lord.

Her romantic mind: The zero percent chance of rainstorm
http://herromanticmind.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-zero-percent-chance-of-rainstorm.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. The zero percent chance of rainstorm. Have you ever had one of those moments where you look around and think, "This is a happy memory"? I had one of those the other day. Our car has been overheating again (as it turns out, a broken head gasket is beyond my car-fixing abilities) so the other night we took a family walk to the library to return some books and check out some new ones. Moments later the heavens opened and it started to rain. We ran. A little rainsoaked but plenty happy.

Pick the day. Enjoy it to the hilt. The day as it comes, people as they come. The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present-And I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future." - Audrey Hepburn. Monday, February 7, 2011. Monday, February 7, 2011. 8 things I did yesterday (Sunday). Talked on the phone for quite a while :). Met my new baby niece Madi in Glendale and attended her blessing. I just can't make myself focus! Deeper Than A Sound.

And then, as I sat on the couch watching General Conference next to my best friend Jacob and his roommate Zach, we heard this life changing announcement. Was I wrong in what I had felt? Should I be serving right along with them?

Her romantic mind: Miriam: 5 months
http://herromanticmind.blogspot.com/2015/07/miriam-5-months.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Our sweet Miriam is 5 months old! I don't have any official stats (those will come at her 6 month checkup next month) but I weighed her this morning and she's about 14 lbs. Way to grow, baby! Still doing that wake-up-around-4-and-6 thing. Lately, I feed her sitting up at 4 am and put her back in bed, but for the 6ish one I often bring her into bed with us so I can fall back asleep easier. Oh, and she's now sleeping in a pack and play, on her tummy! Also, she might be teething?
