Backyard Baseball: June 2010
http://backyardbaseballer.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Before I start with my next set of posts (a review of each team’s season), I will probably need to explain one of the main stats that I will be using, adjusted OPS. Some of you may be familiar with OPS, but for those who are not, it is just a players (or teams) on base percentage their slugging percentage. So what is ‘adjusted OPS’? Some of you may be asking, why use it? Tuesday, June 22, 2010. So I'm sitting down looking at the stats for each team from last season and looking a...

Oz MLB Players: January 2013
http://ozmlbplayers.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Jan 30, 2013. Getting to know Team Australia. Will they rely on reputation and big league game time, or will they look to give some youngsters a go? These are all the questions we can mull over in the lead up to the tournament on 2 March. Yeah, yeah there are a few big arms missing from the list (Balfour, Blackley, Spence, Hendriks, Thompson etc). But so what? Chris Oxspring (SMP Images/JoeVella). Dushan Ruzic (SMP Images/Joe Vella). Warwick Saupold (SMP Images/Scott Powick). My gut feel is that the open...

http://ozmlbplayers.blogspot.com/2013/02/aussie-baseballers-invited-to-spring.html
Feb 6, 2013. Aussie baseballers invited to Spring Training 2013. Spring training is just around the corner, and there will be plenty of Aussies (and ex-ABL imports) plying their wares in the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues. Image credit: MLB.com. Here is the initial list that I have identified as at today - I think it is quite comprehensive, but I may have missed some, if I have, let me know! The links will take you through to their MLB.com page. Allan de San Miguel - Catcher - Baltimore Orioles. Would be ...

Oz MLB Players: August 2011
http://ozmlbplayers.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Aug 23, 2011. Somewhat unfounded rumour creation. So, the ABL is right around the corner, just on the horizon, up around the bend, almost here, and I don't know about you, but I am getting excited. However, today I put together a few things that suggested there might be something better brewing. I am going to put it all out there - if I am wrong, I am wrong, and you can legitimately call me a crazy fanboy. But in the interests of making some sort of prediction, I offer the following:. Referencing special...

Jan 15, 2013. Guessing the Team Australia WBC Roster. So the Team Australia roster for the World Baseball Classic is due to be released later this week. Backyard Baseball: July 2010
http://backyardbaseballer.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 27, 2010. With Jason Akamanis recently being dumped by the Bulldogs due to a 'lack of chemistry', I thought it would be a good time to look at chemistry on the baseball field. Does it matter? Does having a team united help in the march toward a championship? Is it the fact that Albert Pujols is a nice guy and bought one of his team mates a soda before the game? Or the fact that Derek Jeter laughs at Robinson Cano's jokes? Now some people bring up that 'winning teams have good chemistry'....

Backyard Baseball: Times are tough
http://backyardbaseballer.blogspot.com/2010/08/times-are-tough.html
Friday, August 13, 2010. It's getting increasingly hard to write things about the new ABL with such limited information. Which is frustrating from both sides of the screen, I'm sure people out there in the real world are after information (apparently some people do visit this site as I reached 1,000 clicks on the old odometer today), so hopefully coming closer to the season I will be able to throw some more things out there. So here we go with Frequently Askes Question numero uno! Well the ABL have come ...
