The barely read blog of a career underachiever. Thursday, November 20, 2008. Max's Amateur Real Ale Review, Part IV. In this edition: Midnight Sun, Toad's Croak, St. Peter's Ruby Red Ale. What does it taste like? The bottom of the bottle. One of many countryside-animal-themed ales from Badger, this one sports a singing Toad on the label and is apparently named after the dry, parched throat one might develop from working a long day on the land. I'm assuming this ale is meant as the prefect remedy for ...

The barely read blog of a career underachiever. Friday, May 30, 2008. Played Ten Feet Tall in Cardiff with a couple post-rock outfits; Vessels and Stray Borders. It was our second show. The sound was awesome, the reaction was strong and the crowd was numerous for early on a rainy mid-week night. Also, Vessels have about a billion amps. Tapped out by Max. Monday, May 26, 2008. Text Message From Someone I Don't Know. All i can say is she's gorgeous and i'm love! Tapped out by Max. Saturday, May 17, 2008.

one hand clapping: Gigs before Christmas
http://weathercontroller.blogspot.com/2008/12/gigs-before-christmas.html
The barely read blog of a career underachiever. Wednesday, December 24, 2008. It's Christmas Eve. I have little bowls of nibbles, festive music and tales to tell. We've played a couple of gigs recently, first this:. And we went home happy and paid. The night was capped off in true Newport style when, whilst slouching in a doorway to defer attention as I waited for Matt and Rosie, a head yelled from a passing car "Cheer up mate - take some drugs". Certain Welsh-scene-championing DJ's failed to remember us...

The barely read blog of a career underachiever. Monday, November 12, 2007. SNS = Postcard In The Shop Window. I've been trying with some small degree of success to recruit a female drummer/percussionist/singer for the band by poring over endless facebook and last.fm profiles that matched some very broad search terms. I haven't bothered with myspace because it's glitchy and full of overwhelming horrible looking pages stuffed with crap. And the search functions are awful. If so, give me a call. I finally g...

Front loaded. The blurb on the back of the bottle says this one is "thrice hopped" ( which means the hops are added three times, fans of the obvious. The bottom of the bottle. Light amber, copper. Fruity, scented hop, cereal. Crisp/sweet, spicy overtones. What does it taste like? Just a slight craving for more.

The barely read blog of a career underachiever. Friday, April 25, 2008. When flushing the lavatory at my house, you should give a good, firm push on the lever, being sure to hold the lever in the fully down position for a couple of seconds as the process of flushing is completed. What does it taste like? It didn't turn my face red, which is always a plus. It's not the strongest ale (4.5%) and it left my mouth clean. Do real ale enthusiasts care about redness of face or cleanliness of mouth? The bottom of the bottle. What does it taste like? The bottom of the bottle. If you like it real...
