Monday, April 26, 2010. Croquembouche, souffle, cheese cake, oh my! I absolutely LOVE my new cookbook. it's pretty and pink with cute strawberries on the front, i am completely in love :). As i flick through the pages my little heart skips a beat at the thought of trying to pull off these desserts. i have completely NO experience with this sort of cooking so the next edition is going to be rather interesting. Okay, so, having a bit of a Julia Childs moment here, having discovered my sister's Hisako Ogita "I love Macarons" cook book, i decided to get down and dirty with the kitchen and get in touch with the domestic goddess within me. To my surprise, everything i needed was in the pantry! Down the drain, that first batter went with my dog whimpering behind me. second attempt went much better to my delight! I don't think i'll be using my pretty desserts cook book anymore unfortunately. we. are. OVER. While reading the recipe, I thought.hmmmm, i think this would actually be easier than the macarons! The only difficult part would be making the choux pastires! Unfortunately, my croquembouche never ascended, much to my displeasure. Why in the world would i need 6 for! WHY WON'T YOU RISE!
