I quickly candled the Marans eggs this morning, and found a couple clear ones! Clear as in not fertile. Two of the clear eggs are out of my three. Black copper marans eggs! I'm hoping that the breeder will ship out some replacements free of charge, but we'll see. Half the egg is open, and not because of the air-sac, which are normally-sized in all other eggs. Yeah, so Quinn and I are in Arkansas, staying at our cousins' house, with Grandma and the "girls! I let her and her brethren out of their coop today, since it's so nice, and because the rain has ruined all the hay in the coop. They've already fled the lot and are running around somewhere. Hopefully they'll make it back in and don't vanish! That's how I lost the other half of the Marans.
