From the proceeds of the sale of one of my miniature paintings, I made a microloan to Stanslous through Kiva to help him buy tools and equipment for his quarry business in Tala, Kenya. Stanslous supplies building stones to various construction sites, and he has been running this business for 20 years. He is 57 years old, married and together with his spouse they have been blessed with one child. Providing opportunity through art.

Stories of Changed Lives. A Gallery of Art and Opportunity. Why Am I Doing This? My name is Denny Lubecke. I paint impressionist landscapes and cityscapes in oil. I work out of my studio in Prospect Heights, Illinois. For years I volunteered my time and talents by building and decorating production sets for Willow Creek Community Church. This has been his profession for a long time, and he went to school to acquire the skills. Kol is 58 and has three children, including one who was born disabled. Kol’s wife looks after their son and receives disability income for his care. They live in a little town in central Albania, and he is the only repair shop in town.
