The Dereka Crosby Foundation. To truly achieve this goal the Foundation seeks to break down yet another barrier for those with intellectual disabilities, for it is self-evident that if they are to have a meaningful and genuine place in their community they can and want to be a productive member of society. Foundation’s mission, in short, is to educate the larger community of the value of those with intellectual disabilities and their ability to add value to society through employment .

The Dereka Crosby Foundation. This fall Cameron will be entering the University of Rhode Island’s Business Management program. The Foundation believes that Cameron will continue to make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. By his leadership, he will help to make all lives better and equal. Cameron hopes to use his business degree to help pave the way for more individuals with intellectual disabilities to have meaningful paid employment. Download Grant Application (PDF).

The Dereka Crosby Foundation. Childbirth is a life-changing experience for everyone and the emotions can run the gamut from profound joy to deep sadness and fear of the unknown. This was the case for one baby girl, Dereka, born in Georgia on October 28, 1989, to a young military woman. Funny thing about adoption, you never know who you’re going to get. By the way, Dereka has Down syndrome.
