Hogar “el arca” – the orphanage. Hogar “el arca” – the orphanage. June 22, 2011. Some of the girls are quite tough and suspicious which is very understandable but a challenge to know how best to get through to them and love them well. There are a few Tias (carers) who look after the kids – some nicer than others. there are also directors and social workers. there are about 2-3 kids per room and some communal bathroom/showers. Archive for May, 2011. Sunset and more (different) mountains. May 16, 2011. We recently visited another beautiful area very close to Santiago city. This is the prime area for ski fields when the snow starts. We’re hoping to head out when it’s all white to enjoy the view, and maybe even have a snowboard. It’s cool to think that within 2 hours you could be on some great slopes – much closer than Sydney! We love the opportunities to get out in the car and enjoy some fresh air and some wide open spaces.

We were really blessed to go along to a day-conference a couple of weeks back. there were two speakers from the USA talking about church-planting and the world’s desperate need for the gospel. It’s been busy, and things seem overwhelming sometimes, at least to us in a city of over 15 million people who need to hear the good news of Jesus! We recently celebrated Easter. We hope that you had a good Easter, and were able to enjoy time with family and were able to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday. The story doesn’t end with his suffering though, on the third day he rose again!

Moving. chilean style. November 7, 2011. One of our friends here decided to move apartments and asked a few of us to help her out. seeing as one of the reasons we decided to buy a car here (and a ute at that) was so that we could serve in areas like this, we said we’d help them out.
