Friends & Supporters. Bite-sized stories for a busy world. AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT by Todd Thorne. March 13, 2015. This was a lucky day. I knew as I waited for the elevator. I got The Tingle. I felt it in the pit of my belly as the sun parted steam clouds boiling off the building roofs that hemmed in my Brooklyn condo. On the ride down, The Tingle radiated to my toes and fingertips. It peaked as the elevator thumped into the lobby and I danced my way off. He tripped the revolving door and I glided through.

Friends & Supporters. Bite-sized stories for a busy world. CARRYING BUTTERFLIES by Sarah Goslee. January 31, 2015. Melya’s voice carried through the firelit clearing, the long-familiar words flowing smoothly. Emptiness. Darkness. Nothingness. But in the void was an idea, a spark without fire, but a spark nonetheless. The spark was surrounded, nothing above, nothing below, simply nothing. The spark was bored. The goddess got bored again. Yes, even sex gets boring after a while. But what to do? She’d alr...

The right to die could be the only right we have left! As the politicians are hell-bent on destroying human rights isnt it nice to know they have our best interests at heart. A private members bill will go before the Commons in September which will give us the right to die. Monday, June 01, 2015. Still, not to worry...

Friends & Supporters. Bite-sized stories for a busy world. SHADOW-PLAY by Danielle N Gales. February 28, 2014. Three suns gathered over the land of Never-Night. It was mid-mid-day, the time when light scattered most freely, and a poor shadow had little choice but to move lock-step with her caster. Zilch sighed; her caster Abigail dallied about the town, tugging first one way, then the next. Just once, Zilch reflected, instead of being dragged around, she’d like to climb a tree. 8221; Zilch asked. Of cour...

An actual, honest-to-goodness attack from Purpura-VI. You used to be military, didn’t you? A long time ago. If she knew that, did she know about the circumstances of his leaving? Friends & Supporters. Bite-sized stories for a busy world. PEARL by Karen Bayly. January 1, 2015. I’d been busking up and down the street all summer with little success. Man, this town was tough. You were judged on how you looked before you had a chance to do what you do best. Me? I’m a Plain Jane with my heartache on my sleeve, a song to sing, and the guts to sing it. Trouble is, no-one here wants to hear you sing the blues. Welcome to Happy City — no pain or ugliness allowed. The sun and heat are relen...

No. It took effort, but Carlo said nothing. When his mother was in a hurry, it was usually best not to argue. The drive was long, but the view became much more interesting once they got into the mountains. There were funny wooden houses in the mountains, and once they got up a bit, the city looked like a toy. Carlo, his grandmother called.
