Are You Tasting the Pith?: "Mikkeller's Big Book of Beer" by Mikkel Borg Bjergso and Pernille Pang
http://thebeerboy.blogspot.com/2015/03/big-book-of-beer-by-mikkel-borg-bjergso.html
Are You Tasting the Pith? Opinion. Comment. Beer. Opinionated Comment About Beer. Monday, 9 March 2015. Mikkellers Big Book of Beer by Mikkel Borg Bjergso and Pernille Pang. You can say what you like about Mikkeller, but damn, that is one successful brand. The beers are great, albeit with a few conceptual mishaps along the way. This book is similar, in that overall it's quite inspiring, but not without a few niggles. Implies, a sour ale tastes sour like a lambic. Wild ales, which are often paler and have.

Brewery Shades, Crawley. 85 High Street, Crawley, West Sussex RH10 1BA. Friday, 30 March 2012. Tasting Notes: Windsor and Eton Windsor Knot (4% abv). For a brewery that has only been in existence for a little over 2 years, Windsor and Eton are certainly moving in the right direction and are an example to follow for anyone hoping to run a successful brewery. The Pub Curmudgeon: Pubbly Jubbly
http://pubcurmudgeon.blogspot.com/2015/07/pubbly-jubbly.html
A jaundiced view of life from the darkest recess of the saloon bar. Friday, 31 July 2015. At Moss Nook and the Davenport Arms. However, I was strongly critical of the pretentious, over-designed scheme at the Farmers Arms. Poynton, even though what went before didn’t have much to be said for it either. And, after I had listed the Bakers Vaults in Stockport market place as Worst Pub Refurbishment of the Year. 31 July 2015 at 17:33. 31 July 2015 at 18:40. Trouble is not everyone shares your very specific id...
The Pub Curmudgeon: Shunning strength
http://pubcurmudgeon.blogspot.com/2015/06/shunning-strength.html
A jaundiced view of life from the darkest recess of the saloon bar. Wednesday, 17 June 2015. Have recently been reporting on their holiday in the wonderful Yorkshire Dales. In Settle, they were taken by the Talbot Inn. Where they came across the beer list shown to the right. It’s a good mix of styles, and small vs established breweries, but it’s notable that nothing is above 4.0%, something that one commenter pointed out. Most of the well-known premium lagers like Stella and Carlsberg Export have been cu...

Tandleman's Beer Blog: Do We Like That One?
http://tandlemanbeerblog.blogspot.com/2015/07/do-we-like-that-one.html
Tandleman's Random and Particular Thoughts on Beer. Monday, 27 July 2015. Do We Like That One? I'm not a drinker of own brand beers really. I kind of think they are likely to be not very good with one or two exceptions. These exceptions are usually where a very good brewery has been commissioned to produce a particular kind of beer as part of a range. But what about those low end "cooking lagers" which aren't brands, but are set up to compete with "brands"? First up was Galahad Lager. Gives every impress...

Tandleman's Beer Blog: Bass in the Sun
http://tandlemanbeerblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/bass-in-sun.html
Tandleman's Random and Particular Thoughts on Beer. Monday, 15 June 2015. Bass in the Sun. You don't encounter Draught Bass that often these days in my experience. I know of a couple of places where it is sold, but I wouldn't go there just to seek the beer out as such. It wasn't always so. I used to make many a pilgrimage to the White Star. On a gorgeous summer's day last week, I was meeting a friend in Helensburgh, a town I know well from my youth in the West of Scotland. The Commodore Hotel. Draught Ba...

Beer, Pubs, Scooters. My style is reportage rather than studio, and I seem to have fallen into shooting beer and pub-related subjects, which is absolutely fine with me. I use a variety of cameras from digital SLRs to antiques and toys. I tend to use only natural light, which I believe lends a certain unique character to my images. My work has been used in many publications, including Original Gravity. The Guardian, several travel guides and The World Atlas Of Beer. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Scooteria P...

Tandleman's Beer Blog: Fight
http://tandlemanbeerblog.blogspot.com/2015/05/fight.html
Tandleman's Random and Particular Thoughts on Beer. Tuesday, 19 May 2015. We are always being told by the anti drink lobby of "alcohol fuelled violence", but I have remarked here and in comments hither and thither that I can't remember the last time I saw a fight in a pub. Well I can now. Sort of. On my usual Wednesday out at the Regal Moon. An unusual incident I think you'll agree. I'm still guessing though that it will be a long time before I "see" a fight in a pub again. 19 May 2015 at 10:44. This blo...

London underfoot
London's walking trails under the microscope. Wednesday, 7 March 2018. London Countryway 1 original route: Gravesend - Wrotham Road - Sole Street. Footbridge across the A2 road and High Speed 1 rail line near Ifield Court, Gravesend. Not recommended for real bunnies. My recommended way of starting out on the London Countryway from Gravesend is to walk to Sole Street via Jeskyns and Cobham as described in another post. Gravesend Civic Hall and Community Square: 1960s brutalism on an appropriately rainy day.

Suscribirse a: Entradas (Atom). Ver todo mi perfil.
