Zambian Fish: Sup Y'all
http://zambianfish.blogspot.com/2008/02/sup-yall.html
Sunday, February 17, 2008. Hey there any of my faithful bloggies still checking this site! Also I have like a dozen entries that I had jotted down in Zambia and then never published after giving up on the whole 'slow-internet-and-frequent-power-outages' routine. So I'm gonna finally type all those up and post them if anyone cares to read. Posted by Ned @ 8:51 PM. You're an official RPCV. By the by, Linda, one of my other RPCV friends, decided to retire from the USA and write her memoirs where she served ...

Zambian Fish: April 2006
http://zambianfish.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 29, 2006. There's a python in the pumphouse! Brother George blirted out. I ran from my room and approached him in disbelief. Is it really a python? As thick as my arm! So to the pumphouse we went. Leewais jiggled the lock and cautiously opened the door. Light poured into the small room where four pumps hummed in mechanical succession. Sure enough, just under the eaves of the aluminum roof we could make out the dark coils of a serpent. But it wasn't thick enough to be a python. We retreate...

Zambian Fish: The FLOTUS has left the building
http://zambianfish.blogspot.com/2007/07/flotus-has-left-building.html
Thursday, July 05, 2007. The FLOTUS has left the building. First Lady Laura Bush came to visit us here in Zambia (so did Jenna, apparently, but we're guessing she was sleeping at the time). Laura came as part of a 5-day, 5-country tour of Africa to review the progress of our development tax dollars at work.with the price tag of about a million tax dollars for her visit. Cheers to that. She was nice. Maybe too nice? Is this a coincidence? A veritable trait of good character and proper upbringing? O I hope...

Zambian Fish: December 2005

Saturday, December 31, 2005. Calling someone fat is a complement. Mud is nature’s Brillo pad. In America you say: Me too! In Zambia you say: Even me! Lines don’t exist here. They just don’t. You just shove your way like it’s last call at the bar. Apparently it is customary for a visitor to urinate in their host’s bath shelter. My neighbor is an. Posted by Ned @ 8:37 AM.
