Random Thoughts. Random Experiences. 24 May, 2009. Last week Afroja, a very good friend of mine, was invigilating at an examination at the public university where she works. When an unruly student tried to cheat, time and again, she finally took away his exam script. And this is where my story begins. Wait, wait, the story gets better (okay, worse). Senior teachers were called, and senior leaders of the student body, AND the police! Well, if you had bet anything, then you lost. For the Head caved....

Random Thoughts. Random Experiences. 03 August, 2011. First Day of Ramadan. I stopped at a couple of restaurants on my way home and bought more food than we could possibly eat in one meal. My excuse (to myself) was that we were going to have a guest for Iftar. It was also convenient to pretend temporary amnesia - you see, I had instructed the cook to prepare a number of items before I left for work in the morning. So, all in all, this is what the Iftar table carried:. Sliced Orange - the Vitamin C rush!

Random Thoughts. Random Experiences. 14 April, 2010. The colors of April, if you are living in Bangladesh, are red and white. This is the month when we celebrate the Bengali New Year, and the entire country (well, mostly the urban population, actually) is dressed up to the nines in these colors. And the Blogging Girl and Ranak too were properly attired. The Art College brought out a procession, called the Mongol Shobha Jatra, with huge floats and colorful masks. And there was entertainment galore.
