Diary of an Expat Family

Stamps in Our Passport. Mikah's Weekly Photo Project. Thursday, February 26, 2015. About a month ago we finally had the opportunity to escape to Zapallar, one of the beach towns about 2 hours from Santiago. We have heard this place was great, but I didn't realize how much I would like it. We only spent the day there and plan to go back one more time for a weekend before we move in May. I really hope we can make this happen. When we arrived we had lunch at one of two restaurants in town, El Chiringuito.

Diary of an Expat Family: Spin Art Confession

http://www.diaryofanexpatfamily.blogspot.com/2015/02/spin-art-confession.html

Stamps in Our Passport. Mikah's Weekly Photo Project. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Over the holidays we went to Miami and every time we return from vacation overseas, the day before we leave I look at all of our things and swear it is NOT going to fit in our suitcases. Somehow after lighting a candle and praying to the suitcase god for a miracle it makes it back home with us and everything fits. This Spin Art set also takes me back! Well, thank you Manolo and Linda for the unexpected but amazing gift&#4...

Diary of an Expat Family: May 2014

http://www.diaryofanexpatfamily.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

Stamps in Our Passport. Mikah's Weekly Photo Project. Friday, May 23, 2014. Like Grandfather, Like Grandson. Luka is a pretty amazing little boy.well he is not that little anymore he is 7! But every since I can remember I am constantly finding "love" notes around the house. He always comes home with a note for Sam or JJ and I from school. If he misbehaves he most likely will write an apology note. Our son loves to write notes! Posted by Melissa van Herksen. Wednesday, May 21, 2014. I am not much of a coo...

Diary of an Expat Family: Summer School in Santiago

http://www.diaryofanexpatfamily.blogspot.com/2015/02/summer-school-in-santiago.html

Stamps in Our Passport. Mikah's Weekly Photo Project. Tuesday, February 03, 2015. Summer School in Santiago. The International School in Santiago tries to follow the American school calendar as much as possible, while at the same time taking advantage of the seasons. This results in a very long 2-month break from December - February! I never realized how long 2 months actually was. Entertaining two little boys and a baby with no friends in town and a messy house is daunting.so summer camp it was. Luka ex...

Stamps in Our Passport. Mikah's Weekly Photo Project. Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Let's Ted.that was the name of one of Luka's Summer School courses. Luka had never seen or heard a Ted Talk before but I thought that class would be right up his alley. Well, he loved it! Here is the TedTalks. Type video his class created over the course of two weeks. If you have 7 minutes to spare I think you will get a kick out of it. Kid's have great insight! Posted by Melissa van Herksen. Diary of an ex-dancer...

Diary of an ex-dancer. Tuesday, 17 July 2012. If you ask my boyfriend, he would tell you that I have two vices. No, not drinking or smoking. Not drugs. Not even shopping. My two vices are:. I have a pretty strong addiction to both these things, and I try to limit my intake to 1 per week. I know how bad both of these things are, so I make sure they are treats and not daily habits. However. if I made the Subway at home it wouldn't be so bad right? Especially if I made the bread rolls myself, right? 1) Crea...

Diary of an Exhausted Mom

Diary of an Exhausted Mom. The musings of a stressed out mother of four/wife/student. Sunday, February 25, 2018. For the people in your life. I feel like this should come with a disclaimer: I do feel loved and accepted by most people in my inner circle. Some of my struggles with this are of my own device. Perhaps in masking my depression in social situations, I've duped people into believing that that's how I really feel most of the time, so the truth is harder to accept for them. I definitely wished tha...

My new life as an expat wife…. About me and my blog…. Short Note for My Lovely Followers ;). Don’t worry, still alive! The thing is… Mmmmhhh… How to say… We’re on the move! No, I’m not a fan of UAE, I have no clue, I’ve never been there… I also like Belgrade and its people… But, but… Honestly, I believe I might have more opportunities to work in our new place, not like here at all!
