Ad agosto, prima di rientrare in Europa, sono stata con i bimbi al parque da Independencia a Sao Paulo. Il parco si trova nel quartiere di Ipiranga. Ospita il monumento all’indipendenza e un grande museo, il museo “do Ipiranga” (che sarà chiuso per restauro fino al 2020! Si dice questo sia il luogo dove nel 1882 Dom Pedro I abbia dichiarato l’indipendenza del Brasile dal Portogallo.
