Monday, April 23, 2012. A Tour of La Paz and a baptism. We went on a tour bus to learn more about the city of La Paz. These native Bolivians were on the steps of the Church across from the Plaza Murillo. We love there native dress. On the plaza, there were tons of pigeons. More than we usually see. This dad was helping his little boy feed the pigeons. Police were all along the streets as we traveled on the bus. They were expecting another "march". We had a wonderful experience on Saturday, April 21. ...

Tuesday, March 5, 2013. The different kinds of wool are put into this large machine which mixes them all together before moving on to the machines that will make the wool into cone shapes that will become hats. For some reason, we can't get the pictures in order. We are at the hat factory in Sucre, which was really fascinating. This picture shows the big rollers that make the wool into a very thin sheet. This is done after many of the other processes. These are the cone shaped pieces of wool which will b...

Wednesday, March 13, 2013. We spent a rainy morning at the Museum de Libertad. They had several pieces that were all inlaid wood. They were very beautiful and had some secret compartments. This is also where the little harpsichord was. I sneaked a picture of the harpsichord. We had to pay extra to take pictures and John took pictures here and sent them to us. Fun furniture. The choir loft in the great hall. Yes, the loft is gold inlay. The fountain in the plaza. At the front door to the Musea de Libertad.

Tuesday, March 5, 2013. In front of the door to the Libertad. It is the museum of the history of the revolution in the early 1800's, with freedom from the Spaniards coming in 1825, the last of the countries under Spanish rule to gain independence. In one of the museums we went to there was this harpsicord that was made in the 15th century. Sister Dibb was fascinated with the keys. They were made with 2 separate pieces. It still plays. This is the side view. It was very interesting. Dale and Linda Dibb.

The picture is taken from the patio. Some of the grounds surrounding the mansion. Dale in front of the "big house" It has three floors and a basement that they use for an art gallery. This just shows the patio around the house and one of the flowering trees. Some more of the grounds. Dale and Linda Dibb.

Tuesday, October 23, 2012. These are the two missionaries who took very good care of us when we first arrived, Elder Cuellar and Elder Gonzales. This was Elder Cuellars (he's on the left) last day in the mission, he is on his way home to Peru. Sister Dibb cried. Here are the kids in Plaza Aboroa handing out pamphlets and carrying signs. They seemed to enjoy their demonstration under the watchful eye of University professors and students. You can see on the small table pictures of all our children and the...

Tuesday, May 29, 2012. May 29, 2012. We were walking along the street one day and saw the "traffic zebras" walking in a line across the road getting ready for their assignments. By the time we got the camera out, they were just lines up against the building and starting off to their designated intersections. This is the car wash. All around the Plaza Abaroa there are men with buckets and rags, washing cars and trucks. People know where to park when they want their car washed. Some of the missionaries pla...

Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Trip to Batallas - Aug. 19, 2012. Another one of the chapels in La Paz where we teach English to the missionaries. All the chapels are on hillsides with lots of steps because La Paz is totally a canyon. After conference on Sunday, we traveled to Batallas (about 2 hours from La Paz) to give training to the YW, R.S. and Primary leaders in that branch. This is our driver. He is a secretary in the stake and really a nice young man. Dale and Linda Dibb. Tuesday, August 14, 2012.

Saturday, April 6, 2013. We went on an outing with all the temple missionaries to an ecological area where there is camping and picnic areas. This was one of the few times we had a bus that was somewhat comfortable and high enough to stand up in. This bull was right on the trail as we hiked in. On the hike with a "river" and waterfall in the background. This is the fountain in the courtyard. This lawn and statue are right in front of the house. This pond is by the side of the house and has goldfish in it.

Friday, September 21, 2012. This is Sister Cardon, serving at the Cochabamba Temple with her husband. She lived in Alpine a number of years ago. She is posing by a statue of one of the early Friars in the monastery. An interesting kind of instrument he is playing. There was even a foosball game to play at the monastery. The fellow in the white hat is the temple president, President Crayk. Dale and Linda Dibb. Monday, our P-day, we went with the couples from the temple to visit a little town that had a mo...
