http://jerryjourdan2.blogspot.com/2007/05/digiscoping-start-to-print-cameras_963.html
Saturday, March 8, 2008. Digiscoping: Cameras - Features. Today's consumer is inundated with tons of new cameras that hit the market every year. Digiscoping got its start from the use of a compact digital camera (or Point &Shoot) with a 3X optical zoom. Now, mega-zoom cameras up to 24X are available, and most folks think that bigger is better. Not so! Is there an ideal digiscoping camera available? The early Coolpix cameras had a fixed outer lens and internal lens elements that zoomed in and out. Tho...

Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Digiscoping: Adapters and Extras. Probably the most difficult aspect of digiscoping is 'connecting' the camera to spotting scope. Precise alignment of camera lens to eyepiece is critical for vignette-free, uniform illumination, and sharp focus. Many options are available and much has been discussed. Check out. Jerry's Digiscoping Page: Digiscoping: Taking that picture
http://jerryjourdan2.blogspot.com/2007/05/digiscoping-start-to-print-taking-that.html
Tuesday, March 4, 2008. Digiscoping: Taking that picture. Many digiscopers emphasize the benefits and need for a cable release to take quality images. I don't have the setup to support a cable release, thus I have to resort to hand-held shooting, or self-timer shooting. I don't feel like I'm missing out at all, since I'm not convinced that a cable release system is necessary. Reason? And our bodies can make great vibration-damping tools if used properly. So my recommendations are as follows:. Self-explan...

http://jerryjourdan2.blogspot.com/2007/05/digiscoping-start-to-print.html
Tuesday, March 11, 2008. What kind of magnifications can I get? Digiscopers like Mike McDowell. Have come up w/ a formula for calculating the approximate magnifications capable with a given digiscoping setup:. EFL = Effective focal length of digiscoping rig. FLc = focal length range of P&S camera (mm). Epmag = Scope eyepiece magnification. 50mm = equivalent 35mm camera magnification (1X). The total range of magnification for this rig is 800 - 9600mm! Or 20 - 240X! EFL* = EpMag * CFcamera * FLc. Digidapte...
