John has worked on several projects for the IMAX Advanced Technologies Group. He co-developed the pipeline system for the IMAX DMR process which converts 35mm film to a 70mm format. This allows the conversion of feature films for day-and-date release in IMAX theatres. This process is highly automated and the pipeline manages the entire process from initial editorial input to final negative assembly.

John has implemented several boutique internet applications. For McMaster University, Centre for Continuing Education an online course selection and registration system with complete shopping basket functionality was implemented. A specialized registration system was implemented to permit the online multi-person nomination of employees for the President's Award for Excellence. Additionally, an online survey mechanism was implemented to track sessional teaching feedback.
