Sunday, February 8, 2009. When there’s currently no “top stories,” the Mercury News place their crime report on the top of their home page next to the accused’s mug shot picture. It makes them look guilty even before readers get a chance to read the news story. Are the mug shots used to grab the readers' attention? If so, is that ethical? QUESTIONS TO THINK ABOUT. 1 When is it effective to produce a written news report and a video slide show to complement one another? PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!
