Saturday, January 10, 2009. Dave's Den is a site focusing on all things Gary, IN. Here there is a ton of info on the "Steel City;" its past, present and future. Of particular interest may be the "Rudy Report," which helps one keep abreast of the current happenings/shenanigans of the Clay administration. NWI Connect: Cline Ave is gonna be demolished, even Wikipedia knows about it
http://nwiconnect.blogspot.com/2010/02/cline-ave-is-gonna-be-demolished-even.html
Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Cline Ave is gonna be demolished, even Wikipedia knows about it. I just found it interesting that Wikipedia reports about Cline Ave being demolished. Among other things, it talks about the ramp collapse in 1982 and the sniper shootings in 2006, both connected to Cline Avenue. Any good advice for NWI residents on alternate routes, now that you've had a chance to find detours for a month or so? Posted by NWI Connect. February 17, 2010 at 12:05 PM. 2007 was a good year! NWI Connect: Chicagoland Earthquake Wakes Portage Resident
http://nwiconnect.blogspot.com/2010/02/chicagoland-earthquake-wakes-portage.html
Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Chicagoland Earthquake Wakes Portage Resident. I woke up this morning to discover that there had been an earthquake at 4 am northwest of Chicago, near Elgin, IL. The quake registered 4.3, a decent shock for Chicagoland. The New York Times reports that an Elgin resident was the first to point out the earthquake - on Twitter. After that Twitter went ablaze. Heres one to social media for reporting this first! Posted by NWI Connect. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). NWI Connec...

NWI Connect: November 2008

Friday, November 28, 2008. Sarah Palin Turkey Pardoning Video. I wonder why no one moved her to the left a little bit. Daily Kos's comments got a little annoying. It's not as gory as I heard it was. Not very graphic at all. I really don't see the big deal here. . . . Posted by NWI Connect. I-65, Borman interchange open to traffic. Officials with the Indiana Department of Transportation said earlier in the month that the changes were expected to take place in early to mid-December. INDOT reported the impr...

Sunday, August 31, 2008. Restricting Housing - Spells Liberal Democrat Domination. We've been saying this for two years on Daltonsbriefs. And Porter County Politics. If you arbitrarily restrict housing for reasons of environmentalism or "impact" politics, you run the risk of negative equity and eventually highly liberal policies that lead to urban decline and slums. In general liberal housing policies can be shown to have caused the bubble and the foreclosure crisis that we now face in some markets.

Friday, May 30, 2008. Jon Costas is the Right Choice. It looks like Hoosier Access has been blasting Costas a lot lately. This calls to set the record straight. Jon Costas not only leads in endorsements of state elected officials, state legislators and local mayors, but he also leads in endorsements of Republican party leaders. Why would all of these people back Costas is Zoeller is supposedly so "experienced? Here is what your very own leaders have said:. So who is backing Jon Costas? ELKHART, Ind. ...

UI issues in Twitter for Mac/Tweetie 2. April 26, 2011. The internet seems to have figured out how Assisted GPS works, and it doesn’t like it. It doesn’t like it one bit. The first thing to point out, I think, because a certain contingent of the internet punditry brigade have decided that this revelation must immediately be turned into a stick with which to further beat the iOS vs Android horse, is that Android caches precisely the same data. Here’s the output of Android’s location data cache:. So itR...
