The Burnside Heritage Foundation Inc. Archeological evidence has been found for the presence of Maritime Archaic, Paleoeskimo and Beothuk peoples, and there exists anecdotal evidence that Bloody Bay Cove in Alexander Bay was so named because of a battle between the Beothuks and early European settlers. It starts over five thousand years. Ago: The island of Newfoundland was a very different place and the first humans. That could be used for making all the tools needed to function in this harsh environment.
