Started with a downpour on Monday, and by Thursday we were cut off from the world, landslides blocking the highway just a half-mile in either direction. Monday, June 6, 2011. The campground is full. Cars and motorhomes are pouring down the driveway in an endless caravan, looking for sites. Day-use parking is a nightmare, our tiny lot looks like a ten car pile-up, and people are milling around the kiosk in droves. Summer has come to Big Sur. Ah, to think back on those lazy days….
