Dirt Dawg Biker

Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Although I have been staying pretty fit over the winter I have not ridden as much as I would have liked. It was a combination of reasons that caused the lack of saddle time so no blame can be placed anywhere except on me. Damn! We rolled along just fine for about 6 hours, or just a bit more, when Tony double flatted out on the single track. Now how often does that happen? George Scott.aka, dirtdawgbiker. Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Focus on the big race. Then to risk an injury!

Dirt Dawg Biker: 18 Hours of fun on the farm

http://dirtdawgbiker.blogspot.com/2009/08/18-hours-of-fun-on-farm.html

Tuesday, August 18, 2009. 18 Hours of fun on the farm. I first have to say how much I love this race venue! It's some really sweet single track with a great mix of climbs, speedy downhills, and some technical patches to keep you on your toes! The first year Tony and I did this race it had been rescheduled because of a storm that brought down some trees on the course. They moved it to November and the temps at night went down below 30 degrees and I was way unprepared for the cold. In a word it was. On the...

Dirt Dawg Biker: Aching old bones

http://dirtdawgbiker.blogspot.com/2009/08/aching-old-bones.html

Thursday, August 20, 2009. Getting back to training is always the hardest after a few days off. The old knees are always the first to show their age and put up a fight! But they can't win all the time! Ache or not the training must go on.so as usual I'll just down some pain killers and get to it! I'm hoping that some day they'll have some good options for replacing old knees and discs that can hold up to the wear and tear I put on them! I mean come on, what are they really doing with all the money anyway?

Dirt Dawg Biker: August 2008

http://dirtdawgbiker.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 21, 2008. Back from the back. Things are still looking up for the back injury. It's been two weeks with no pain and I've finally.FINALLY, started doing some training again this week. Light stuff, but at least it's stuff. Right? So just some easy jogging, light weights and a little spinning on the trainer just to make sure there are no lingering issues to be concerned about. So far so good so I'm just pushing forward! 29erOoohhh that's a sweet looking bike. Wednesday, August 20, 2008.

Dirt Dawg Biker: January 2009

http://dirtdawgbiker.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, January 13, 2009. I know there are those folks who live in the north and love the snow bunny games but really, you can have it. . Best snow activities I had were in Hawaii on the Big Island. In the winter sometimes it would snow at the top of the Mauna Kea volcano. You can head to the top and do whatever.build a snowman.snowboard.ski.whatever! Then, the best part, you can head down to the beach and be in the surf by dinner.HOW AWESOME IS THAT! George Scott.aka, dirtdawgbiker. Rivers Edge 5o miler.

Dirt Dawg's Running Diatribe

Ramblings from a runner on this blue bubble. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. 2 cups quick cooking oats. 189; cup brown sugar. 189; cup honey. 189; cup peanut butter/almond butter (my favorite! You can even use 1 stick butter, softened - I haven't). 189; cup M&Ms (raisins, cranberries, chocolate chips, sunflower seeds, etc.). 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2 Line a cookie sheet with a Silpat so the granola won't stick. 3 Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. 6 Store in an airtight container.
