Discovering Our Roots: February 2010

http://discoveringourroots.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Sharing stories and research about my family history. Trial and confession of John Funston. In 1825, John Funston who lived in near Coshocton, Ohio was tried and convicted of murdering William Cartmill. William Cartmill was a postboy who was delivering mail between Freeport and Coshocton when he was shot by John and robbed of a ten dollar bank note. John did not know William, and it is assumed that he mistook William for a trader who frequently travelled the road. James Funston and the Earl of Rosse.

http://discoveringourroots.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Sharing stories and research about my family history. Some Funston / Johnston Connections. My Funston family had many ties to the Johnston family in the early 1800's. My ggggrandfather, Paul Funston, married Anne Johnston (or Johnson) ca. 1780. Paul Funston is listed with the Johnstons in the 1805/06 Leslie Estate near Pettigo, County Donegal, Ireland. I suspect that at least some of these Johnstons came with Paul to the US, and were probably relatives of his wife Anne. 1810, Series M33, Roll 88, Page 24.

Cozzens Clan: June 2014

http://crazycozzens.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 2, 2014. Welcome to the World, Holden! The newest addition to our family made his appearance last Thursday. Holden Luke weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs. 12 oz., and was 21 inches long. But of course no one is in a hurry except the pregnant lady! About 7 pm I got an epidural, and between 7:30-8:00 they broke my water. A little while later I felt a little bit of pressure "down there" and asked to be checked. Sure enough, it was time to push! I only had to push a couple of times, and out he came!
