Chasing Proverbs 31: My baby can read
http://chasingproverbs31.blogspot.com/2007/11/my-baby-can-read.html
Thursday, November 29, 2007. My baby can read. So, I discovered today that Eleanor can read. It went down something like this. I can't see the video yet, but that is still incredible. I'll try to get it at work tomorrow. What a little baby Einstein! PS I love the new banner. November 29, 2007 at 9:30 PM. That is almost unbelievable, but she really is reading. Wow! She'll be on War and Peace by preschool! November 29, 2007 at 10:39 PM. Forget preschool, she's ready for first grade! Wowthat is pretty crazy!

Chasing Proverbs 31: Buzz, bee, buzz!
http://chasingproverbs31.blogspot.com/2008/04/buzz-bee-buzz.html
Sunday, April 6, 2008. Buzz, bee, buzz! I want to start by saying a couple of things that I think are very important. First, I didn't teach Eleanor to read. I am not some crazed flashcard-wielding maniac sitting around drilling this stuff into her head all day. She just. How to read, and we are incredibly thankful to God for blessing her with this amazing gift. That leads me to my second thought. Kids are talented. I don't think Eleanor is any. Is wonderfully made and is given some special talent. I unde...

Chasing Proverbs 31: Some reading
http://chasingproverbs31.blogspot.com/2008/07/some-reading.html
Sunday, July 13, 2008. I added a "reading posts" link in the sidebar for those of you who haven't been with us long or for those of you who have, and want to see how cute Eleanor was in that first reading video when she was just 14 months old. :). The lack of videos lately has been due to the fact that Eleanor stops whatever cute thing she's doing that I'm trying to capture, and immediately runs toward me yelling, 'Up, pease! As always, very impressive. umpire? July 13, 2008 at 9:32 PM. How blessed I am!

Chasing Proverbs 31: Storybook Festival
http://chasingproverbs31.blogspot.com/2009/10/storybook-festival.html
Tuesday, October 27, 2009. So, the Loudoun County libraries are awesome about having tons of free programs and activities for both adults and kids. They recently had the Storybook Festival. The kids were encouraged to come dressed as a prince or princess. Here's Miss Priss with what I guess is the mascot of the library system. She just marched right up to him like we were still at Disney World. Here she is trying to be oh-so still while the artist draws her caricature. She is just breathtaking!

Chasing Proverbs 31: More of my baby reading
http://chasingproverbs31.blogspot.com/2008/03/more-of-my-baby-reading.html
Wednesday, March 5, 2008. More of my baby reading. I'm really sorry if I'm being annoying and obnoxious about this, but I'm just more amazed each day with the whole thing. When Eleanor first learned to talk, I remember counting 10 words, then 25 words, then 60 words, and then she just really took off within a couple of months. The same thing is happening with reading. I can't even count how many words she can read now. I know it's over 100, and she surprises me with new ones everyday. That is just crazy.

Chasing Proverbs 31: More reading fun
http://chasingproverbs31.blogspot.com/2007/12/more-reading-fun.html
Sunday, December 2, 2007. So, what I'm finding out is that Eleanor can read some words that she cannot say. I had a hunch she could pick out color words even though she can really only say "purple" and something that sounds sort of like "yellow." (Click here. If you haven't seen Eleanor's first reading video, and have no idea what I'm talking about.). And here's a picture that I LOVE of her enjoying her sweet new freedom. I think I'll be very sad when she learns to walk without her arms flailing about.

Chasing Proverbs 31: A reading update
http://chasingproverbs31.blogspot.com/2008/01/reading-update.html
Wednesday, January 9, 2008. So, I think my theory about my child is that she has a photographic memory, or something very close to it. She can read some words after only seeing them once. I sat down and wrote a list of all of the words I could think of that she can read. I discover new words that she knows ever day just by trying them out. Today,. I found out she can read, "airplane." What in the world? Holy crap is she ever good! She'll be skipping to college before we all know it! If you didn't tape th...

http://chasingproverbs31.blogspot.com/2009/01/playing-reading-card.html
Sunday, January 25, 2009. Playing the reading card. When all else fails, post the reading videos, right? I just recorded these tonight. (Sidenote: Yes, she is still in diapers 100 percent of the time, and yes, she does own pants.). She never ceases to amaze us! I think she had a great time at MiMi and Pas this weekend. I know they sure loved it! She even talked to me a little bit on the phone. Just made my day! January 26, 2009 at 12:06 AM. January 26, 2009 at 3:16 PM. January 26, 2009 at 9:14 PM. My bab...
