Thursday, March 26, 2009. I've been too busy to post much, so I'm just posting my profiles for completeness. Les Davis A2Z Cleanup (dive #1). Les Davis A2Z Cleanup (dive #2). Fox Island East Wall. Saturday, February 28, 2009. 344: Redondo, Feb 27 2009. Tami's gloves and suit got wet somehow, so rather than tough it out she decided to bail. She's kind of a princess that way. =). Here's a few of the critters we ran into:. Giant Pacific Octopus (under boat near tube). Small Giant Pacific Octopus. Roughback Sculpin with brain-sucking parasites =). Scuba Crap: #345: KVI Towers Mar 6 2009
http://scubacrap.blogspot.com/2009/03/345-kvi-towers-mar-3-2009.html
Friday, March 6, 2009. 345: KVI Towers Mar 6 2009. Our plan was to go to China Wall today, but a bad oil pressure sensor limited us to 8 knots. KVI was close, and it's a great site, so we did two dives there instead. Vis was great down to 100 fsw, with plenty of ambient light and virtually no current. Scuba Crap: Pee valve plumbing
http://scubacrap.blogspot.com/2008/11/pee-valve-plumbing.html
Thursday, November 27, 2008. The first time I used my new OMS pee valve, I quickly realized its included "plumbing" had a couple drawbacks:. At 1/8" ID, I wasn't terribly confident in its flow rate. It required some "fishing around" at the dive site to get everything hooked up. Here's what it all looks like when assembled. See the end of this post for a full listing of parts. The tiny clear tubing that comes with the pee valve isn't large enough for quick-disconnect fittings, so I replaced it with black ...

Friday, March 6, 2009. 346: KVI Towers Mar 6 2009. What can I say? Another great, albeit shorter, dive at KVI! Here's a little video montage of the dive, plus a really cool bait ball in the marina. Just discovered your blog. It's nice to dive vicariously through someone if I can't go myself. Wonderful photos! I tried searching your blog to find out, but what computer/program do you use to display your dive profile like you do? March 8, 2009 at 9:11 PM. Hey Mel, thanks for the good words! 346: KVI Towers,...

Scuba Crap: Installing a pee valve
http://scubacrap.blogspot.com/2008/11/installing-pee-valve.html
Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Installing a pee valve. If you've been diving in a dry suit for any length of time, you've more than likely had a few dives where you couldn't get out of the water fast enough to go pee. The urge to pee may just be a minor annoyance. But if you start limiting your water intake before diving to avoid the urge, you are increasing the likelihood of DCS. What pee valve should I get? Previously, I installed a Halcyon balanced pee valve in my Apollo suit, but I actually never used...

Scuba Crap: #354 - #357: Hood Canal
http://scubacrap.blogspot.com/2009/04/ive-been-just-swamped-lately-trying-to.html
Monday, April 6, 2009. 354 - #357: Hood Canal. I've been just swamped lately trying to keep up with work, in addition to making some huge updates to PlanYourDive.com. Here are four dives I did last weekend when we were out in the Hoodsport area. I saw two HUGE giant pacific octos out in the open and got some decent video of them. Vis was pretty bad, but they were still great dives. Sund Rock (south wall). Sund Rock (south wall). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 358-#361: Apr 2-18 2009.

Scuba Crap: Basic Camera/Light Bar
http://scubacrap.blogspot.com/2008/12/basic-camera-bar.html
Thursday, December 25, 2008. We're headed to Day Island Wall tomorrow, and there's supposed to be tons of adult and juvenile wolf eels and octos there. My camera has been frustrating me lately, especially in low-light situations, because there isn't enough ambient light to allow the camera to focus. Also, I can't take decent video because my light is attached to my right hand, which is the same hand I hold the camera with. At any rate, here's a (somewhat blurry) photo of what it looks like.
