Wow , this was the longest and the deepest dive I have done in a while! Chris Eddy and I took off in the lead and decided if we were going to dive before freezing to death; we had better be on our way.Leaving Marty and Linda and Rush and Sonya as following teams. I call this one - "Sniff my butt". These suckers were HUGE!

So as my first post , Im gonna go overboard . I was excited to see a lot of firsts- for me. For the first time I saw :. A Sea urchin south of Hornby. A molted Shrimp shell. A scallop at Redondo! KVI was close, and it's a great site, so we did two dives there instead. Vis was great down to 100 fsw, with plenty of ambient light and virtually no current. Thursday, December 25, 2008. We're headed to Day Island Wall tomorrow, and there's supposed to be tons of adult and juvenile wolf eels and octos there. My camera has been frustrating me lately, especially in low-light situations, because there isn't enough ambient light to allow the camera to focus. Also, I can't take decent video because my light is attached to my right hand, which is the same hand I hold the camera with. At any rate, here's a (somewhat blurry) photo of what it looks like.
