PCLinuxOS, Radically Simple: May 2009
http://pclinuxosuser.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 10, 2009. Thanks to Yoyo for the screenshot. I update my system every once in a while and I would like to be able to continue the way I do it . the old-school way. There are, naturally, the advantages. Take for instance Firefox and its attempt to patch the vulnerabilities that seemed to be more and more these days. Then there are the latest releases of packages . wow, updating OpenOffice.org - would you have the patience? But if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Links to this post. Time will defi...

PCLinuxOS, Radically Simple: Google Earth 5
http://pclinuxosuser.blogspot.com/2009/03/google-earth-5.html
Tuesday, March 24, 2009. First, I have to reiterate that installing packages outside the PCLinuxOS repositories isn't supported by the PCLinuxOS Community Forum. And I will not be held responsible if anyone follows my example and breaks their installation. This is merely a record of a simple task that I did to install the latest release of Google Earth. I downloaded the latest release. I couldn't be happier. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). PCLinuxOS Sites and Blogs. PCLinuxOS 2009 Is Released.

PCLinuxOS, Radically Simple: Global Moderator
http://pclinuxosuser.blogspot.com/2009/03/global-moderator.html
Sunday, March 15, 2009. Whatever did I do to deserve such a burden in life? Seriously, I am pleased that I will be able to give a bit more of my time and effort to the PCLinuxOS community. Today was my first day at the job and I learned to split and merge and move posts and topics. I didn't have to do any of those things when I was administering PCLinuxOS China. Then again I had a lot of help from the users. It'll be different this time though. I've even locked a topic today. March 16, 2009 at 11:00 PM.

PCLinuxOS, Radically Simple: A Split in PCLinuxOS
http://pclinuxosuser.blogspot.com/2009/04/split-in-pclinuxos.html
Wednesday, April 1, 2009. A Split in PCLinuxOS. It had been reported in Distrowatch.com. That "numerous developers quitting the project" and a lot of pushing and shoving on the mailing list and forum. Whatever started the "internal issues" albeit avoidable had happened and we'll all have to get on with it. I would have nothing short of wishes of luck and successes to the result of this split, Unity Linux. And wish that all this back-stabbing and flame would cease and desist. PCLinuxOS Sites and Blogs.

PCLinuxOS, Radically Simple: last and history
http://pclinuxosuser.blogspot.com/2009/03/last-and-history.html
Friday, March 13, 2009. In Linux, we learn different things all the time. Today, I learned. The comand "last" and how to append a timestamp into the command "history". History" is a common command for shell that lists all the executed commands until given the -c switch. It is very useful repeating commands that had already been executed, and investigating what commands were executed. Archie :0 Thu Mar 12 07:16 - 10:30 (03:14). PCLinuxOS, Radically Simple: What is good in this world?
http://pclinuxosuser.blogspot.com/2009/05/what-is-good-in-this-world.html
Saturday, May 9, 2009. What is good in this world? It's a hard battle on all fronts, but most of all let's not discuss politics. It's a tough rule but must be followed if we are to maintain peace and order, or what little of it exist. The recent blog post by Clement Lefebvre, main developer of Linux Mint was a big talk in the Linux circle. One such article from ExtremeTech called it The Great Linux Mint Political Train Wreck. All I could say was WOW. You bet it could. People with no Internet connection, ...
