Pond and Folly Walk. All the garden with the exception of the rock garden is accessible by wheelchair, although some of the paths in the woodland are rather uneven in places. Pond and Folly Walk. Pond and Folly Walk. The spring garden has been planted mainly with varieties of malus, magnolia and betula and is underplanted with hundreds of tulips. It is at its best in April/May. The folly, described by Sir Roy Strong as a 'piece of Hampton Court' was built in 1997 by a Doddington based builder, G.L. Near Nantwich, Cheshire. Doddington Hall is a large private Grade 1 mansion designed by Samuel Wyatt, which was rebuilt ca.1780. It is set in gardens landscaped by Capability Brown, overlooking Doddington Lake, a popular sailing venue. The 13th century castle is to the north of the Hall.
