[chronosequence] | Doireann Ní Ghríofa
https://doireannnighriofa.wordpress.com/2016/02/09/chronosequence-2
Here’s a piece. I wrote about getting lost and wandering into a derelict house. It was a strange and beautiful place. I was especially struck by the vividness of the paint as it fell away from the wall in chunks of plaster. My collaborator, Peter Madden, is currently working on a filmpoem based on [chronosequence]. You can watch some of our previous filmpoem collaborations here. Grew from my contemplation of these issues. Thanks to the wonderful New Dublin Press. For featuring my work. February 9, 2016.

The Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. This year marks the 40th anniversary of this prestigious prize, and Trinity College organised a fitting celebration of the generosity of the Rooney Family to Irish writers. It was truly amazing to be in a room with so many gifted writers: Anne Enright, Frank McGuinness, Sara Baume, Kevin Barry, and Medbh McGuckian to name just a handful. In the Irish Examiner here. Or in the Irish Independent here. Gerald Dawe, Professor of English, introduces the ceremony. The Poet...

Ramblings of an Irish Writer. Dan’s Tiny Reviews. March 3, 2015. My cousin was in a massive fridge the other day. Doireann Ní Ghríofa
There is a fearlessness in Ní Ghríofa’s work: in the subjects she turns her keen gaze on, but also in the very music she lets play in the lines. A deep intelligence informs the strategies and approaches in the poems, and a generosity of spirit and openheartedness are signal qualities." - Paula Meehan. Photo by Bríd O'Donovan,.

Doireann's Bakes
Ever since I announced that I was planning to post some recipes online, I have had several requests for a simple recipe for S’mores Brownies…So here we go! You asked for a simple recipe…but the one main issue with these is the fact that they use Graham Crackers. I have yet to find any shops here in Ireland selling them and not only that but I have not found anything here that is quite the same! 1 packet of Graham Crackers (or a suitable alternative). 15 cups of self raising flour. 2 cups of caster sugar.
