Don's Training Blog or:. How I learned to stop worrying and enjoy myself…. Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon…. Parkrun #2… →. Tuesday, 11 October 2011 pm 31 23:48. My legs have been pretty stiff since the Royal Parks Half. On Sunday but it has manifested itself in the thigh muscles and there hasn’t really been too much pain in the troublesome knee, achilles or hamstring. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. I can’t believe how quickly this has come around. It has been a really long year due to the various injuries I’ve racked up but it seems like only yesterday that I was feeling relief at having completed the Hoy Half Marathon. Before coming to the decision. On the off-chance of actually seeing me run past on the final straight...

Don's Training Blog or:. How I learned to stop worrying and enjoy myself…. Great Edinburgh Run 2011…. Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon… →. Tuesday, 4 October 2011 pm 31 14:43. I seem to have managed to come through the Great Edinburgh Run. On Sunday relatively unscathed. My legs were a bit sore yesterday and today but thankfully not as bad as they were after the Great North Run. A few weeks ago. My plan is to go for another cycle on Thursday then rest until the Royal Parks Half Marathon. I took up ru...

Don's Training Blog or:. How I learned to stop worrying and enjoy myself…. Saturday, 15 October 2011 pm 31 20:00. So much for taking a long break from running after the Royal Parks Half Marathon. My legs have been stiff for most of the week but the knee, hamstring and achilles have been okay. If anything my knee has been worse in the last couple of days than on Monday or Tuesday so there was a strong argument for attempting another run before it seized up completely. I got to the end and even managed to ...

Don's Training Blog or:. How I learned to stop worrying and enjoy myself…. Recovery… →. Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon…. Sunday, 9 October 2011 pm 31 23:59. So this was it, the event that the year was supposed to be geared around before my knee injury struck in February. In many ways I just wanted to get it over and done with but after an enjoyable Great North Run. Three weeks ago and Great Edinburgh Run. My biggest concern was quickly switching off the alarm clock so that it wouldn’t disturb...

Don's Training Blog or:. How I learned to stop worrying and enjoy myself…. Headtorch… →. Tuesday, 14 December 2010 pm 31 23:59. The run itself was fairly nondescript and followed the same route as the last couple of sessions. Conditions underfoot really don’t seem to have improved at all though. The snow is perhaps not so deep and the ice a bit thinner but neither of those have made the conditions any easier. The main 5.7 mile part of the run was almost a minute slower than Sunday at 43m 52s with an ...

Don's Training Blog or:. How I learned to stop worrying and enjoy myself…. Same again… →. Great Edinburgh Run 2011…. Sunday, 2 October 2011 pm 31 21:49. I’ve had a few doubts over the past couple of days about whether it was a good idea to take part in the Great Edinburgh Run. My legs haven’t felt too great, I haven’t trained at all since the Great North Run. A fortnight ago and I was really worried about ending up with an injury which would prevent me doing the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon.
