Dorchester YMCA was founded in 1868 as an independent non-profit making charity providing sport, recreation and community activities for members and users throughout Dorchester and surrounding areas regardless of race, religion, disability and gender, its first home was in Icen Way. Some of these sports included a Football team and Table Tennis both of which were very successful in the district. The Centre offers gymnastics classes as its main sport but also hosts a number of other activities on offer to the local community by other groups. On a Saturday afternoon and Sundays, see their website. Adult Body Conditioning, contact Grace on. Table Tennis on a Tuesday evening. Disability Coffee and Craft on Saturday mornings. Summer Holiday Cricket and Gym clubs. The Centre also accommodates other local groups for meetings and hire of the hall for other activities.
