On the day I got my bar exam results I was so nervous that I sweated through my suit and so punchy that I photocopied a bagel and billed it to a pretend client. Little did I know that the suspense of this afternoon would be so much worse! My 20-week ultrasound is in less than 24 hours and I have become completely irrational. How could I have been pregnant in the first place? And how could I have had a miscarriage? I’ve always been extremely healthy. I respect authority, follow most of the rules, eat healthier than the average American, go to church, pray, etc., etc. Shouldn’t that be rewarded with a healthy pregnancy? Did I do something wrong?
