Drawing the Eye: ... with an Italian Twist

http://drawingtheeye.blogspot.com/2011/06/with-italian-twist.html

Wednesday, June 22, 2011. With an Italian Twist. Last weekend, when I was home in Hammonton, I visited the opening day of the Farmers Market. Growing up in Hammonton, I had a lot of access to 'farm fresh' food. particularly because my grandfather always had a garden full of produce and then, as I got older, my best friend worked at a local farmers market. It was really lovely to see the whole town embracing local and sustainable food - from local fruits and veggies, to wines, to locally caught fish.

Brideism: Monday Pick Me Up- Valentino edition

http://brideism.blogspot.com/2010/04/monday-pick-me-up-valentino-edition.html

For the feminist bride who isn't afraid of a little femininity. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Monday Pick Me Up- Valentino edition. Love, love, love these champagne colored Valentino heels. Valentino is known for glamour and luxury and these shoes are the perfect representation of that. I absolutely love the peep-toe detail and the luxe bow. The neutral color means that they would be perfect with any lovely jeweled bridesmaid’s dress and of course they would be amazing with a wedding dress. Monday pick me up.

Brideism: Ready-to-Wear Bridal

http://brideism.blogspot.com/2010/05/ready-to-wear-bridal.html

For the feminist bride who isn't afraid of a little femininity. Sunday, May 2, 2010. For most brides, finding the perfect wedding dress is a stressful occasion. Brides typically spend several hours in a by-appointment-only boutique (with an entourage of female relatives and BFFs of course) and then undergo hours of custom fittings topped off with a hefty price tag. All that is set to change though. Earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal. A lot of ready-to-wear bridal creations are less formal than t...

Brideism: Catering Ideas

http://brideism.blogspot.com/2010/04/catering-ideas.html

For the feminist bride who isn't afraid of a little femininity. Tuesday, April 27, 2010. I have been spending a lot of weekends at the Brooklyn Flea lately (I'm writing a piece about the food vendors there). After sampling too many of the treats and interviewing several vendors, it occurred to me that several of the dessert products would be wonderful edible wedding favors. My favorite are Nunu Chocolates:. Kumquat's mini cupcakes are $15 for a dozen here. Posted by Wedding Girl. April 27, 2010 at 6:21 PM.

Brideism: January 2010

http://brideism.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

For the feminist bride who isn't afraid of a little femininity. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Can you love weddings and be a feminist? I adore weddings. I also consider myself a feminist. I never realized that these two facts could be considered problematic or even contradictory until about six months ago when I stumbled upon this Salon.com piece, "Attack of the Feminist Bridezilla! I think they are all socially conscious concepts but I think it might be a mistake to call them all feminism. Then the argum...

For the feminist bride who isn't afraid of a little femininity. Saturday, February 27, 2010. Yesterday the Chicago Tribune. Ran an article about weddings on cruise ships. Apparently the number of couples choosing to get married on a cruise is increasing exponentially. The most popular cruise ship line mentioned in the story, Carnival Cruise, expects to have 2400 weddings on their vessels this year. What do you think? Brideism: Q & A with a Bride-to-be

http://brideism.blogspot.com/2010/04/q-with-bride-to-be.html

For the feminist bride who isn't afraid of a little femininity. Monday, April 26, 2010. Q and A with a Bride-to-be. Would you ever wear a non-white wedding dress? A pretty cream or champagne colored frock could be lovely. What about something bolder? Like deep red, say? Q: How did you decide on such an unconventional dress? Q: How did your fiancé respond? Kelly: He was incredibly supportive. He said ‘that’s cool, you should wear what makes you happy.’ He knows me though. Q: What about your family? 8221; ...

Drawing the Dog

Monday, August 25, 2008. Skipper the Swedish Farm Dog. Skipper used to bring his minder for long walks and some lazy lunches down on the beach. The only thing he required on the walks was a tennis ball. When I went round to his house one day I realised why. He has a tennis ball fixation. There were dozens of them, everywhere, so you won't be suprised that the title of this painting is "Skipper loves Tennis". I would have put him in my case if I could have. And the finished painting. One day last year, wa...
